Active retired animal lover ❤️🐶🐱

Pet care experience

Your dog would never be alone if you board with me! Since recent retirement from a pharmaceutical travel job, I have been searching for something to fill my time as well as something I love doing. My family suggested that with my love of animals, I should consider pet sitting. I’ve had many years’ experience with caring for numerous family/friend pets when they vacation and when I visit them, and also walking and caring for a very large St. Bernard for a disabled employer for many years. I considered attending grooming school to be with pets, but haven't pursued it yet due to the cost & time, so feel pet sitting would be a great way for me to spend time with animals. I am mature, trustworthy, reliable and honest. Also, I am healthy, strong, & active and know this would also assist me in getting my daily exercise as well! I love all animals, but will do in-home boarding and day-care for doggies only as I do have a cat (who likes dogs, but not other cats.)

My dog Alejandro absolutely loved Cindy and he is usually fairly shy - he seemed to be comfortable on the very first meeting. Cindy is also very reliable, detail oriented, wanted to know all of Alejandros daily routine , and sent me daily updates and photos . I love the peace of mind she gave me and I didn’t feel the guilt that I usually feel when I have to take him to the kennel

Cindy was incredible! I don't know where to start. I originally booked when my older cat, Misha, was ill and I wanted someone to spend more time with he and Jack. Between the time I booked and my trip Mish had to be put to sleep. It was very hard on me and my other cat, Jack. Cindy was so kind and was very attentive to Jack who was very sad about losing his brother. Jack did OK for the first few days I was gone. Cindy sent me videos and pictures of them playing (she brought toys with her!) and Jack getting brushed (which he loved!). After a few days, Jack seemed to get sad again. I think losing Mish and me leaving really hit him hard. He stopped eating and drinking. Poor Cindy spent A TON of time with him to try to cheer him up and started giving him water via syringe. We tried all kinds of tricks to coax him to eat (baby food, canned chicken, packets of broth). Nothing. All he wanted to do was sleep in his brother's chair. I got Jack a vet appointment and Cindy took him in for me. I was able to be on speaker via Cindy's cell phone during the appointment. Jack was enticed into eating a bit with some richer food. I finally got home and got him back on track with his eating schedule. I can't say enough how wonderful Cindy was taking care of Jack. He's dramatic by nature and he was so sad about losing Mish. Me going on vacation seemed to put him over the edge. Cindy was so sweet to spend so much time with him and she worried about him like he was her own cat. She kept in touch the whole time with videos, texts, and calls. Especially, as Jack seemed to be getting sick. She definitely felt bad about calling, but she also wanted to keep me informed and ask what I wanted to do. I was worried about him not eating, but I was never concerned about the care he was receiving. I knew Cindy was doing everything she could for him. On top of all of Jack's drama, Cindy had just gotten home from her own vacation and was dealing with a sick family member, but she always made me feel that Jack was a priority for her. Honestly, if she ever agrees to watch him again it will be a miracle because he was a disaster and I know she was terribly worried about him. She has stayed in touch with me to check on him and has been so sweet and happy to know that he has finally bounced back in terms of eating and his personality is starting to brighten. He's still sad about Mish, but he's doing much better. I would absolutely recommend Cindy 100%. I'm a helicopter mother to my cats and she went above and beyond what I was expecting. I'm so grateful that I chose to use her and if she would ever agree to watch Jack again I would absolutely love it. (I'm just not sure she would want to given what we put her through). :)

If we could give a 10 star review to Cindy, we would! From the moment we met Cindy, she was clearly someone who loved dogs and was eager to take care of our little guy. We have a rescue chihuahua so we were a little hesitant to leave him with someone he didn’t know. However, she did a phenomenal job providing a loving and caring home for him. We received updates via text and pictures throughout our trip which put our mind at ease. We couldn’t have been happier with the care he received and would certainly use her services again. She is fantastic and we would highly recommend her for any kind of pet boarding/sitting! Kristi and Bob

I care for all pets in my home exactly the same as I do for my own. Feed, play time, many walks, potty breaks as needed, and have even slept with many of them. Several clients will bring their crates as well for naps and nighttime. I treat them all with love, hugs, kisses, you name it.

Information Cindy D. would like to know about your pet

1) That they get along with cats. 2) That they receive flea/tick treatments regularly, and 3) They respond to basic commands. Also, if the pet has any medical concerns, is on medication, or has special needs. I have no preferences as I love all dogs/cats, no matter their age, size, breed, quirks, needs, etc. I love all animals, and probably was one in a prior life. :)

A typical day

Will take walks throughout our neighborhood and adjacent community. If dog enjoys car rides, can visit dog parks, peninsula, dog trails, etc. Will brush & groom as requested. Will play ball, and other toys, in large rec room or in yard.
