Loving, Reliable & UCDavis Graduate

Pet care experience

Animal welfare is important to acknowledged in all species--domestic and wild. It is our responsibility to respect each living creature, by giving them THEIR needs and not our own. My Qualifications -Studied animal science & behavior at UC Davis. I wanted to try to understand their perspective and attempt to see the world through their eyes. No, I am not a dog whisperer. But I do listen for their needs. -15yrs pet/dog owner. -5 yrs experience vet-tech; able to provide basic vet-care. -Responsible, encouraging, outgoing, respectful, attentive, approachable (by animals and people), calm, communicable. -Able to observe animals and analyze their needs. -Flexible availability: Need to drop your pooch off at 6am? I'm up at 5. I am available when you need me to be. Your dog's safety and welfare is of utmost importance. Client concerns and questions are encouraged. I want this to be a great experience for both you and your pooch. I do so using these 3 steps: 1.Observing a dog's personality When an dog arrives, we have to allow him/her to explore the new area. Does he/she seem anxious or scared? What is their body language communicating? Do they hide behind mom or dad? Or are they playful diggers? Each pup is different and should be respected accordingly. 2.Bare Necessities We love to give to our animals. And I am here to provide the care each animal needs. I enjoy hearing about a dog's routine, what treats does he/she like and what they dislikes. A balanced diet and exercise is as important for them as it is for us. I believe a healthy dog is a happy dog. 3.Client Satisfaction What are the clients expectations? What do you want to gain from your dog's experience? Does your dog need to work on some new tricks? Is potty-training to difficult? I want to provide my clients with excellent doggy care which includes working towards common goals. ***Rover rates may change depending on each clients situation. Ciara was awesome with my cat, day gecko, and fish! She was very thorough and updated me throughout my trip. I felt like my animals were very safe in her care. I will definitely be using her services again. Thank you!

Ciara has never personally watched any of my animals, but because of her experience, compassion, and determination, I would trust her with my animals in an instant. Ciara has a lot of experience with different kinds of animals. She has worked with both exotic cats and dogs, and domestic cats and dogs. She graduated from UC Davis with an Animal Science degree with an emphasis in Behavior. Because of this, I feel she is well equipped to deal with the nuances of my animals' behavior. Not only does she have a lot of experience, she herself is a dog lover. I remember one year she brought up her little dog, Oreo, and would sometimes take it with her to class. She was always trying to include her dog in her activities, and Oreo seemed very happy to be near it's owner whenever she did bring it along. Ciara is also one of the most compassionate people I've ever met. She was the leader of a club on campus that reunited children with incarcerated parents, and made sure they were able to spend quality time with one another, and would make time to attend each of these events. She was also a very good friend, always checking in on me and making sure I was doing well. She always knew what to say, or how to continue fighting. She has helped inspire me to both love and believe in myself, and I am so so thankful I was able to interact with her. While at UC Davis, Ciara was involved with many projects and worked. She was always telling me about how she was preparing for her next big project or test, and she was always very organized and methodical while she planned her time. Ciara is excellent at prioritizing, and seemed to always have time for everything her schedule demanded of her, even if it was just a few minutes to meet up in the park. I think the biggest testament of Ciara's character, however, is the way she positively impacted the people around her. She seemed to know everyone on campus, and everyone had something wonderful to say about Ciara. Ciara is responsible, organized, compassionate, and just an all around wonderful person to be around. If I had any dogs for her to watch, she'd be the first on my list to ask.
