I walk walk my dogs daily in the woods and meadows around Monument Rock where leashes are not required. There is a spring and pond there feeding a creek that can be followed to Monument Creek just below Monument Lake and Mt Herman Trail's head. It's the best part of my day. The dogs like it more than food. I'm a retired engineer. I'm almost always home. I take my dogs with me everywhere weather permits. Your dog will never be alone. I have 2 dogs, A schipperke and a papillon - pomeranian mix who is the vole digger. My yard permits digging. I have no fence but can use tie outs. Walks on leash are on a 5' lead on a 25' recoiling leash. There are two street circuits I walk. one is 0.5 mile and the other is 1.5 miles but I prefer the trails.
