where your pet will be leader of the pack

Pet care experience

I live in Newton, MA in a large colonial. I have a large fenced in backyard with lots of room for your pet to play. The Carriage Lane is a great place to take your pet for a walk and to meet other pets and their owners. Our neighborhood offers quiet streets for long walks. My profile will include dog hosting overnight. If you plan to leave a pet for the next day but not overnight I will charge doggie daycare after 6pm. This rate will be half the overnight rate. . I have not checked large dogs on the profile and my preference would be no larger than 35 pounds. I would consider a large dog from 40 to 45 pounds if they were in a more mellow time of their life and would be happy with 4 walks per day, I have always loved and had pets, both as a child and as an adult. Now that I have the time, love and enthusiasm, I am hoping that you will consider my home to be your pets home while you are away. About this sitter: I am an owner of a large home in newton, ma with a fenced in, pesticide free (30+ years) backyard. We are empty nesters and your pet would have my undivided attention. Your pet will receive all the love and attention that I have given my own pets ( and children) My kids became crazy about rabbits after we volunteered to keep a classroom rabbit over a school vacation. We have had rescue rabbits and store bought rabbits as pets The last rabbit 'Big' went on to survive to the incredible age of 12 which is very old in bunny years.. My son and I volunteered with the House Rabbit Society caring and socializing rabbits who were awaiting adoption. My whole experience has not been with just rabbits. I grew up with different pets including dogs, cats, birds and turtles. Lost dogs always seemed to find their way to our front door. Our pets were always an important part of our family and we all took great delight in the mischief they would get into, even getting sprayed by a skunk. Our last dog and cat got on immensely well. Patches always looked after our cat Puddy keeping close tabs as well as hanging out together. There came a time in my adult life when I 'adopted' my family dog and later our cat when my parents were no longer able to care for them. I am proud to say they both lived to the old age of 18 and are buried in our backyard along with all of our bunnies. We truly have our own pet cemetery. I know from experience how difficult it can be to leave your babies when you go on vacation. They become a big part of your family and you want to be sure they receive the love and attention you would give to them. I now have the space, time, and enthusiasm to finally do what I really love to do and offer to others what was so sorely missing when we needed it. I hope you will give me the opportunity to make my home your pet's home away from home and a place he or she will look forward to when you go on that well deserved vacation or necessary business trip. Why I love dog sitting I have been around dogs ever since I can remember. We had a large family and always seemed to have pets, especially dogs. I guess the answer to that would be my whole life and I am happy to say that both my boys share the same love for animals, whether they are in the wild or are pets. About my yard My backyard is fenced in and pesticide free. I am an organic and native plant lover. There is both a large grassy area and large driveway that is plowed in the winter. There is plenty of room to play whatever games your pet loves My experience administering medication While I administered medications to my cat and rabbits, both pill and by syringe by mouth (for the rabbits), I have to be honest that I do not feel comfortable administering injections. I do intend to take more professional courses in near future, such as CPR and first aid for pets.

My dog Lucy can be very nervous in new situations, but she took to Chris immediately. Chris even rearranged the furniture so that Lucy could look out the window which is one of her favorite things to do. She sent me pictures so that I could see how well Lucy was doing and I loved seeing them. I would recommend Chris and definitely use her again the next time we go away.

This is the first time we have used Rover. When we met Christine, we felt very good about leaving Ally with her. She really cared about making Ally happy and even let her sleep in her bed. Ally seemed very comfortable with Christine and her husband and it was fun to receive photos of Ally during the day. We would certainly call on Christine again.

Christine kept our dog Casey for the first time last week. It's always tough leaving your "fur baby" with someone you don't know, but Christine did a great job making sure both Casey and I were comfortable! She texted me a picture each day and was very responsive to any questions etc She is very conscientious and kind and I know Casey will be happy to stay with her again in the future. Thank you, Christine!!

This was the first time we were going to be away from our dog and we were a bit nervous about it. However, as soon as we all met Chris, we (my dog included) felt comfortable with leaving our dog with her for two nights. I could tell that she knew how to interact with dogs and she was comfortable with animals. My dog warmed right up to her - faster than I've ever seen him warm up to anyone! Chris was great about sending us pictures and reached out if there were any questions. She was also very fast to respond any time I reached out. I am happy we found Chris and would absolutely use her again in the future. Thank you Chris!

Information Christine Y. would like to know about your pet

I would like to be sure that the dog is well behaved, and has all the vacinations that are appropriate. I also require that the dog be treated for flea and ticks by a vet.

A typical day

Here's where we'll take our walks Our neighborhood is full of dog owners so your dog would have no problem meeting and socializing with other dogs. Also, we have access to the Commonwealth Avenue carriage lane where dog walkers abound every day. Your dog's sleeping arrangement Your pet is welcome to sleep anywhere they are comfortable. That could be in their own bed or in our bed. We also have very comfortable couches which are pet friendly. Time I'll spend with your dog Since this is my only job your pet will be the only focus of my day. I will be able to spend most of my day entertaining, feeding, walking and playing with your pet.
