A dog is always part of the family

Pet care experience

I have grown up with dogs all my life. I currently have a German Shepherd, Bailey, who is a sweetheart and the most sociable dog. She loves people and other dogs and gets so excited when we have visitors. She always thinks people are there to see her (even the UPS guy). Our home is always pet friendly. We have a good sized home with plenty of space for extra dog beds. We have a comfy sectional couch which allows dogs. Bailey has basically made it her own. Our yard is spacious to run around and play. We also have a covered deck for pets to relax on in the shade. Our neighborhood is quiet with lots of parks and trails to walk. I am a stay at home mom so I'm always home except for running an occasional errand. When the weather is good enough, we spend lots of time in the backyard playing fetch, chase, or just relaxing. There's even time for a random squirrel chase. We like to go on at least one walk a day around the neighborhood and like to make visits to the dog park (with owner's permission). If it's too cold and snowy, we have plenty to do inside with lots of toys to chew on and love. Our dog, Bailey is very sociable. She will want to play with your dog as soon as they arrive. She is excited at first but settles down after awhile. Surprisingly, she is very good with little dogs and tends to favor them over bigger ones. Although she'll play with any dog that will play back. She is not possessive of her toys or bones and will gladly share. She's a gentle dog and still acts like a puppy. She's a friend to everyone. I even joke that if we were to be robbed she would let the burglar in and even show them where all our "valuables" are. I do prefer a meet and greet because I have a dog and baby that I want to make sure get along with your pet. I cannot accept dogs who are aggressive or uncomfortable around other dogs or babies. I have an 8 month old son who our dog loves and they get along great. If you have any special toys or beds please bring those. Also you will need to bring a crate if you prefer your dog to be crated while sleeping or left alone, ect. I will always ask owner's permission about treats. (We always have plenty on hand)

Best sitter we have ever had for our dogs. They absolutely love it at Christine's! We are lucky to have her watch our pups.

Christine did great with Atlas. He has seemed happy and tired when I have come to pick him up. She sent me a picture about midway through the day, and was quick to respond when I asked how he was doing. I will use her again!

Information Christine S. would like to know about your pet

What are your dog's favorite activities? Are they frightened or upset by anything like thunderstorms? Can they get along with other dogs and children? I don't have any breed preferences, but the only breed where Bailey is a bit skeptical of are Great Danes. She mostly just barks at them a lot (the only interaction she's had with them is at dog parks) but then she gets used to them. I think a meet and greet will resolve this issue.

A typical day

There are plenty of places around the neighborhood to walk. There are two parks very close to the house. I have several walks I like to go on ranging from shorter to longer distances depending on the weather. Our yard is big enough to run around, play fetch, or just be a dog. We have lots of grass to roll around and a deck to relax and watch squirrels.
