30+ yrs. as a Pet Care Professional

Pet care experience

*I DO THIS FULL TIME. *I AM NOT A "HOBBY" PET SITTER, I HAVE EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE and it is important to have that experience when choosing a Pet Sitter. *I have worked as a pet professional for over 30+ years. *I have done everything.... *Animal Control/Cruelty Investigation, 7.5 years *Veterinary care 4.0 yrs. *Petco Store Manager. 7 years *I am also a certified Professional Pet Groomer. since 1998 (No longer groom, sorry) *My family consists of 4 dogs, two small breeds, and two larger breeds. *My 16 year old son is not only a pet lover, but is experienced in canine behavior, Especially for his age! * We believe in having our dogs indoors with us if the weather outdoors is too hot or cold. *Our property is very large, and can accommodate up to 2 more large dogs and 2 more small breed dogs. I NEVER LEAVE ANIMALS OUTSIDE UNATTENDED! EVER! *My experience with animal behavior can give my clients the confidence to know their beloved dogs will be in good hands, safe and we'll cared for. *ABOUT CAT CARE...I only do Cat Care in the owners home and is considered a "Drop In Visit" I charge PER CAT, per VISIT. *I love CATS!, care for Cats IN YOUR HOME can be accommodated (I believe it is too stressful to take them out of their home environment!), so if you have a fur ball who needs to be checked in on, litter box maintenance and or other stuff like watering the garden, I am your girl! *I firmly believe it is less stressful for your cat to stay in his/her familiar environment. And again I want to say, I charge per cat per VISIT. so if you have two cats, I will come clean boxes, take out the dirty litter and dispose of it in the trash each and EVERY visit. I will rotate the lighting in the house to make it appear someone is home and of course feed them according to your instructions and give them fresh water. I will even stay and visit with them if they are not afraid and play with them if they are playful. Why I love dog sitting... *I have been a dog lover since birth. My family has always had dogs and still does. *Between my parents, myself and my sister we have 7 dogs! *I am passionate about animals, and the care and the humane treatment of them! *In my twenties, I began working at an Animal Shelter in Maryland and Washington DC, from then on to today I have worked in various capacities of pet care. *I went from kennel attendant *animal control officer *Veterinary Technician *Professional pet groomer *As well as a store manager for Petco Animal Supplies. *I am highly skilled at reading animal behavior, body language as well as seeing if there any signs of illness. Meet my pets *We only have Dogs as pets at this time. See my profile pictures of them! * My yard is large, secure and its mostly dirt! Plenty of running space...and digging IS OK. About my yard *My backyard is very large. *Even though its just weeds and dirt. There are shade trees and really the dogs just go out there to potty. And when it is cool, to play fetch or wrestle with each other. My experience administering medication *I have experience with administering any medications necessary as I have veterinary experience. *I can even give injections subcutaneously or intramuscular. *I have little tricks to get dogs and CATS to take their medication. *I have insulin injection experience.

Christine took great care of our dogs while we were gone for 3 weeks. She sent us daily photos and updates through the app. Our dogs were happy and well cared for when we picked them up.

Whiskey stayed with Christine for a week. We were updated with email and photos throughout his stay. When we picked him up he was a happy boy. He was not stressed out at all. Thank you.

Christine is awesome! She truly cares for our puppy Ella like she is her own. Christine ensures our puppy is safe and well taken care of AND she even teaches basic training skills our puppy really needs at this time. We know Ella is in great hands with Christine.

Information Christine R. would like to know about your pet

*I do not have any breed preferences. "Large and Small I Love Them All". *I do prefer your pet to be up to date on all vaccinations, including BORDATELLA. *I do prefer the pet owner to be completely honest as to how the dog gets along with other dogs. If he/she does not, I can accommodate that, but need the owner to BE HONEST regarding aggression to people or dogs. *Also, if the dog is housebroken is VERY important; because we want to be able to have him/her in the house if weather should be too hot or cold. PROOF OF VACCINATIONS IS REQUIRED.

A typical day

*We just request you be sure to provide a leash and secure collar or harness for your dog. *Also, please be sure to let us know if your dog is aggressive. If a dog becomes too aggressive during an outing or walk we will terminate the outing/walk immediately. *Sometimes, dogs will react differently when they are with strangers and in an environment that is "stressful" or unfamiliar. Your dog's sleeping arrangement *If you prefer, we can crate your dog at night if he/she is crate trained. *If not, he/she will most likely sleep in the bedroom with myself or my son and of course in the bed; that is if your dog is comfortable with that, and is HOUSEBROKEN AND FREE OF FLEAS. :) Time I'll spend with your dog *If your dog is staying here at the house with us, I will be spending more than 20 hours a day, depending on my schedule. * If I am currently doing sitting in the home of another client the time schedule may change. I will be sure to let you know when you drop your dog(s) off. Extra house-sitting services Plant and yard watering can be arranged. I do charge a fee if I am not staying at your home with your pets. If I am staying at your home I will water and it is included in the fees.
