Hello! My name is Christie and I am a current PhD candidate! I have grown up with animals my entire life along with running foster care within my home with my mom during my childhood and teen years. I have rescued and adopted many animals of all kinds and truly miss animal/pet care. Since I started my PhD program, I didn’t have a pet for a few years and grew really sad. I finally gave in and adopted my dog, Pepper, who is a happy, loving girl. She gets super excited whenever she even sees another dog and sounds slightly strange (i.e., weird whining noises that don’t sound they’re coming from a dog 😂). Pepper is a 7.5lb Chihuahua, French Bull, Terrier mix who loves adults, children, and other animals. Though I have a dog, I miss meeting and helping with other animals. Therefore, I decided this would be a great opportunity to share some love with animals while also helping out people! Since I’m interning for my final year of my doctoral, I have a low source of income. So I figured I could knock out two birds with one stone - give love to some animals and make some money on the side.
