My husband and I are both life-long dog lovers with many years of dog care experience between us both. When our beloved dogs (Chessie & Boomer) passed it really motivated us to start doing some of the things we've always wanted to do. We'd love to help other folks have a great vacation by providing a safe environment for their pet while they are away. That was one of the issues that we struggled with over the years - where to leave our pups. We had a pet sitter come into our home - which was wonderful - but it would have been great to have someone providing care in a 24/7 environment. We are both avid dog lover who've had dogs since we were kids. We've had 'special needs' dogs so we have excellent techniques for giving medication and even calming anxious dogs. We also have a great relationship with a local vets office. We would love to meet your companions and we will treat as our own while you are away. We are available for overnight stays for long weekends, vacations or extended time away. I work during the day but Del works from home most days. We are both home during the evening and on weekends. Why I love dog sitting I've been a dog lover my entire life. When I was little, I told my mother that I was having puppies when I grew up. I did pet sitting in my hometown before I was able to get my first dog when I was around 10. About my yard We have a fenced back yard with a double-gate system. There is an inner gate and an outer gate which prevents an open gate issues from happening. The fence is a 6 foot privacy fence. We have a large deck with a nice size back yard for play time. We moved the deck off the house so we have a 'track' for our dogs to run. My experience administering medication We've cared for many elderly pets over the years and our dear Chessie had life-long medical problems. I'm very comfortable giving oral meds - pills and liquids. And I've recently learned how to do injections like insulin.
