I am a mom of 2 pups, one a high-energy Hound mix who came to me as a Foster and stole my heart. The other is a 9 lb. Maltese mix who I've had since a puppy and started from scratch, crate training, walking on a leash, etc. I've experienced both sides of the spectrum, from training a 2 year old stray to puppy training. I've worked with trainers to help the foster/stray learn everything and within a year, she is a dream dog! High-energy, yes but I love the challenge and love how happy I've made a dog who never knew a home. I truly believe a tired dog, is a happy dog. I believe walking, running and playing make a huge difference at the end of the day. No matter their size or activity level, keeping your dog active is key to longevity and behavior.
