Pet care experience

I have had dogs and cats all my life. Whether they be at my house or my grandparents, so I know what good care and love really means. I have done both house sitting and animal sitting (dogs, cats, rabbits, ferrets, and Guinea pigs). I understand some dogs want to be loved on and need extra attention, while some may either take awhile to get used to a random person coming in for visits or just enjoy their walks/feeding and want to be left to their own devices. Whatever is best for YOU and YOUR pet I will provide. I have been a Veterinary Technician for 4 years now. I am able to identify things that should be kept away from pets while not under direct supervision, what signs to look out in terms of being ill, heat exhaustion, etc (especially during the hotter months), and I just know the basic do’s and dont’s when it comes to snacks, play time (not overdoing it), animals boundaries (Fear Free Certified) and other things that may put your mind at ease having someone else take care of your fur baby. If you have a fearful/nervous/anxious pet I may be a good fit for you! Of course this is supposed to be a sweet and simple intro, I’m more than happy to go over the details of my experience in person. I also have references! Fact of the matter is no matter how old, young, big, or small your fur baby (or fur less baby- I don’t discriminate) is I will recognize that they are your family and I will treat them with the love and respect they deserve. I understand it can be hard trusting someone new with your fur baby, but know I have the intention of giving them all the time, attention, love, and care they need while I’m with them! I hope you’ll consider me!!

There are not enough words to describe how amazing Christina is! She is our first sitter from Rover and we were a bit nervous having someone we did not know stay in our home. She met with us twice before our vacation. Instantly, we felt comfortable and our dog loved her. We received pictures and updates every day that we were away. We came home to a very happy dog, a clean house, our mail organized and a note with status updates on the trash (taken out), plants (watered and healthy), poop in the yard (all picked up), bedding (washed and bed was remade) and bathroom (cleaned). This was far above and beyond our expectations. She even gave our 65 lb dog a bath after taking her to a local trail for a hike. I highly recommend Christina to anyone looking for a phenomenal dog sitter. FANTASTIC experience!

I’m so lucky to have found someone who loves my Sarge-just like me! Tina is reliable and trustworthy when it comes to her dog walking responsibilities! She helps us out daily, because my husband and I work long hours. We come home everyday to a happy and calm puppy!

I have two rescues who are not the most welcoming to other dogs which is why I do not offer in home boarding. However I am more than happy to be with your pet at their home! I’m open to different arrangements!!

Information Christina S. would like to know about your pet

I have a three legged pitbull I rescued while working at an animal hospital. So if I were booking someone through Rover to come let him out or walk him, I’d give them a specific amount of time/distance it would be okay to walk him since he relies on only one front arm. The point being… Some animals have limitations and that is perfectly fine, so long as I’m aware I will make sure we stick to what works, and keep your pet as comfortable as possible. If your dog takes any type of daily medication and you expect that they’ll need it during the time I will be with them, that is definitely important to know! Or even if your dog is anxious and has a very specific routine that they know/follow, so long as I have the details beforehand I can stick to it the best I’m able to!!

A typical day

People think walking a dog is enough to “tire them out” or entertain them. I believe in mental stimulation as well has physical stimulation. This may look like, a frozen treat pad, with softened kibble/treats, or various animal friendly fruits and veggies smashed up. By the time my dogs get done with a lock pad they are usually knocked out for a couple of hours! Other examples may be tug’o’war, or hiding small treats around the house/yard for them to use their noses to sniff out, or a walk, but a walk where they get to stop and sniff for as longgggg as they like! All of these things will keep your furry friends energy and anxiety levels down.
