My Love for Dogs In addition to a life-long love for animals, I have had 15 years of owning and caring for many breeds and sizes of dogs: Labrador retrievers, poodles, Australian cattle dogs, and several mixed breeds. Volunteering at the local animal shelter to walk dogs of many breeds and temperaments, as well as shadowing medical procedures and intake, has been a joy of my life. Now, I just have one dog, Gracie, who you can read about below. Our Experience and Space Eight years ago in college, my husband, Brian, and I were favorite pet sitters for professors at our university, simply because we loved it and were well-trusted. Our current home offers a large yard with plenty of pet-friendly places to sleep and play, as well as special requests to visit Pet Safe dog parks in the area or walks at favorite parks. A Typical Day at Our House I believe in routine when it comes to caring for animals. A typical day at my house would include a walk in the morning, a walk in the evening, air-conditioned lounge-time in the house, leashed access to the yard when desired, and, of course, playtime with Gracie. Your dog will sleep where they like or stay in their crate, depending on your preference. If your dog has special needs or considerations, those will be my priority. Our Dog, Gracie Gracie is perhaps the most submissive dog I have met. She is a 30 lb beagle-Australian cattle dog mix who knows just what to do with dominant dogs to calm their need to be in charge. After she makes friends, she loves chasing and being chased; there isn’t a game she won’t play. At the dog park, I have seen her help shy dogs out of their shells and run happily with the big dogs. She is a lap dog who also loves to lounge. Services At this time, I offer dog boarding, day care, walking, and home visits. I can also administer oral medication if necessary.
