I have worked with animals my entire life. I adore all animals and would love to spend time taking care of your furry family member when you are away. I have experience handling a variety of behaviors and personalities and enjoy working with them. I have volunteered for many organizations and worked in shelters in the past including Austin Pets Alive! (TX), Bideawee (NY), LSPCA (LA) and Operation Save the WhoDat FurBabies (LA). Why I love dog sitting I've loved animals for as long as I can remember. Since the age of 3 I have considered veterinary training and other careers involving animals. My passion for animals was highly influenced by my parents and grandmother, who took in animals consistently. I fondly remember a Boxer my uncle took in from a neglectful home. She was so afraid of me that she wouldn't move if I came near. After years of work she would only sit next to me when I was visiting. Due to this animal, I have found a soft spot for neglected and shy dogs. My family often babysits for friends, so I have found myself caring for people's pets multiple times. I also have worked with multiple organizations to help animals, I helped treat puppies with Sarkoptic mange, Parvovirus, and Distemper - to name a few. My experience administering medication I am very comfortable with medication. I have given medications hundreds of times to a lot of animals. I believe I have a sixth sense for detecting sneaky dogs & cats who like to hide pills under their tongues! Personal ownership I currently have one cat who is my baby. I found him when living in Brooklyn and discovered he was a very friendly feral. I coaxed him into my home and had him neutered in hopes that I could get him adopted through the shelter I worked at. I was unable to give him up and have helped him to become a happy Louisiana lap cat. I work with a somewhat irregular work schedule. Morning and evening visits are typically available as well as some early lunch visits. My career allows for some flexibility while I'm caring for your pet. I love getting to see the personalities of each pet. I am hands on and happy to engage in playing, confident in giving medications and love the ones that love to cuddle.
