A Safe & Loving Place for Dogs

Pet care experience

I’ve taken care of many dogs on & off through the years and I find it rewarding & engaging. There is never a dull moment. My goal is not only to keep my doggy guests safe & comfortable, but also to keep them from missing out on days or weeks of affection <3 I’ll love on your baby for you until you come back for them. I know I would never want to leave one of my pets with a sitter who would ignore them. Missing out on affection and attention leaves dogs anxious and unable to trust that they’ll get their needs met. That’s unacceptable to me. I do my best to treat every dog I watch as if it were my own.

Christina did a great job taking care of Murphy while we were out of town. We mixed up our vacation dates and she was super understanding and extended our dog’s stay a day. Great communication and she sent a few videos 😁

Christina did a great job taking care of my nervous pup. She sent updates and made sure to communicate if anything came up.

Safety, trust & environment

My house has plenty of space and is animal safe/proofed. I have three bedrooms, two of which I’ve turned into dog rooms, so there’s dedicated space to play, sleep, or have some quiet time if they want it. I love to play and hang out with them if they’re up for it, but I can respect their space if they aren’t. Most dogs are fine with sleeping in the second bedroom but if they struggle to sleep alone in a new place, I let them sleep in my room by the bed. I’m happy to take care of older dogs, sick dogs, and dogs with physical disabilities or behavioral problems, as I can usually find a way to accommodate. In particular, I watch a lot of senior dogs and I adore them. I haven’t had to turn away a dog with a health problem yet. Regarding how I will care for them, I am happy to discuss that with you individually in as much detail as you’d like. Because I care for dogs with a wide variety of needs, the care they receive is very much tailored to each dog. If I had to summarize: when you tell me your dog needs something, rest assured they’ll get it.

Information Christina G. would like to know about your pet

Please answer the following for me: - whether or not your dog has special needs - how your dog feels about other dogs (I usually watch two or three dogs at a time) - what your dog’s sleep setup is at home - whether or not your dog may have separation anxiety - does your dog have incontinence problems or inconsistencies? often this is not a problem, but I really need to be able to plan - has your dog boarded with anyone before and how did it go? - what are your concerns and questions for me? What to Bring: - If they take medication it needs to come with them, of course - Food - Treats - Bed/blanket - Crate if they’re crate trained or if it is EVER used at home (always better to have and not need than to need and not have) - Leash, harness - Any toys that they really can’t live without. ***Leave everything else (including bowls) home if possible, as we want to keep your things out of our list and found!*** Bonus Points: It helps a lot to write/type out the commands your dog knows along with their usual schedule at home, but this isn’t a requirement. I look forward to speaking with you! Note: Please limit your pickup and dropoff windows to 1 hour, 2 maximum if possible, as waiting at the house limits my ability to leave to take the dogs on walks or run errands! Note 2: I usually have more than one dog at a time, but you might not see dogs when you arrive! This is because I put other dogs in the yard or in another room during dropoffs and pickups. Doing this ensures that none of them will escape through the front door while I focus on greeting you and either receiving or returning your dog, and allows me to be present with you without having to wrangle other pups. It also lets me introduce the new dog more slowly to the dog(s) I already have with me.

A typical day

For fun, we will be going on walks, playing fetch or tug-of-war with toys, snacking on some treats, getting tummy rubs, or just cuddling and watching tv together ❤️ Elderly dogs will probably be snoozing nearby in a sunbeam. Puppies and huskies and any dog with high energy levels will be walked a LOT and/or played with a lot in the back. Just let me know what your dog needs/likes to do and if I can accommodate, I will. FYI I don’t take dogs to dog parks because I don’t know how your dog will respond to me off-leash and I don’t want to find out the hard way! So we will stick to getting play and exercise in the back or on walks.

I have been doing bird rescue and rehab as a volunteer for a couple of years, hence all the pics with birds! My schedule now is very flexible; I’m nearly always home, so I can spend quite a bit of quality time with the dogs. I can walk them as often as you need/want me to and they can take longer walks to burn off energy. Furthermore, I have a beautiful backyard where they can run around, play fetch, or just roll in the grass.
