Pet care experience

Hello all, My name is Christina! I recently graduated Penn State in December and now work remotely from home. Working virtually, I’m home all day with a very flexible schedule. Dogs have always been a mans/woman’s best friend. I was raised with my pup by my side since i was 8 and she has always been my best friend. I know how important it is to find someone capable of taking care of your pups. I treat every pup and furry friend as if they were my own. I have helped over 30 families and have worked with all dog sizes. Most of my clients are long-term and end up continuing services off of Rover. If you'd like more reviews or would like any references, reach out! I can provide multiple clients who've I've helped for 2+ years and are more than happy to help! I've cared for energetic pups, who need lots of exercise, to older dogs who need more attentive care. I am very flexible and I'm here to make the care provided exceed your expectations. I strive to make sure that the pup experiences a smooth transition and barely notices your gone (in a good way. i promise they still miss you.) For younger and more energetic dogs, exercise and play time is vital. Different breeds have different exercise needs as well. I've done daily 30-minute walks and even hour-long walks. I spend most of my time outdoors, so I'm ready for whatever! I like to stick to routines and schedules so the more information about their daily activities you can provide the better! I’ve also been told I’m pretty good at playing fetch (hopefully not the fetcher but my dog seems to think that's the game). I know that I would want the best care for my pup and I want to provide the same opportunity for you! Feel free to message me with any questions! Experience: -> 20 pounds - 100+ -> older dogs: they tend to need more gentle attention. I've worked with up to 15 years of age. I’ve given medications before, know protocols for basic emergency situations, extra bathroom breaks, helped dogs with hip problems move down stairs, etc —> Puppies: Puppies can be very energetic and playful. I’ve cared for puppies and raised my own. They tend to need eyes watching at all times to prevent any mishaps such as stolen shoes, inside bathroom use, or clueless puppy destruction. My job is to prevent all that with very attentive care. I stick with lots of outdoors time/ indoor playing, walks, and giving them as much love and attention i can. Currently, my most routine client has been an 11 weeks old Bernese Mountain dog named Oaklyn. (check my photo gallery, he's adorable). -> walks: i trained my dog how to walk without pulling and I’ve walked numerous dogs before. If you’re worried about pulling, my 100 pound Chesapeake gave me plenty of experience. I tend to stick to whatever the owns typically does or is most comfortable with. Currently teaching Oaklyn the concept of walks, and at first, we couldn't get past two houses down. But he's learning and we've made huge progress!!

Christina is great! We’ve used her the past few years. She always treats our dogs as her own. We have 3 dogs (two senior and recently got a new German Shepard puppy about 10 months ago). She’s been great with both our older dogs and helping out with our puppy. My husband and I travel a lot and it’s such a relief to know our house and dogs are in good hands. I highly recommend using her if you’re looking for someone you can trust to always provide excellent care.

Christina was wonderful with Riley. She really showed that she enjoyed him and vice versa. She took him on outings, played with him, and made sure he was comfortable all the time. I could tell when I picked him up that he had a great time with her. I would use her again and again if I could.

Christina did a fantastic job taking care of Frosty while we attended the Penn State game this past weekend. Though his stay was brief, we received pictures and updates throughout. We would highly recommend Christina and will definitely see if she is available next time we are in town and in need of a sitter.

Information Christina F. would like to know about your pet

I love sticking to schedules and I adjust to fit your pup’s routine. I strive to make sure they feel the most comfortable. I usually wake up around 5:30-6:00 am so no worries if you feed them early! Generally, I just like to know what works best for your dog. The best option is to provide a routine or schedule I can stick to so you know that your dog is getting the exact care you hope for! Please don't hesitate to make a schedule or an hour-by-hour sheet. It's not required at all, but if you feel that it would make you less stressed, I am a huge fan of schedules, and can be as direct as you'd like!!

A typical day

Depending on the dog's age and your specifications, I usually like to make sure they get plenty of outdoor walks and I love going on adventures around the neighborhood. I used to have a 100-pound dog myself and I can walk any dog no matter the pull or energy they may have. My goal is to help them feel completely in routine and to have fun! I also spend time to make sure their given enough excitement indoors with toys and give them my attention to making sure they feel loved while you’re temporarily away :) For older dogs, I try to incorporate stimulation without pushing their physical limits. I make DIY "brain. games" for my senior pup and honestly, all ages of pups have loved it! let me know if you'd be interested in doing the same for you! For example, I take a muffin tin, put small treats in random slots, and cover all the muffin holes with tennis balls! Your pup then has to navigate, using their smell, to find the treats, and move the ball to reveal the hidden treat! I have so many more of these mentally stimulating games, so let me know! I'm also open to sharing if you just want to know more games for you to try.
