Pet care experience

Former dog mom of large breeds ( Black Lab border collie & Black Lab Pitbull) since 1999. Animal shelter experience with diverse knowledge of different breeds and personalities. My dogsitting style is based on the teachings of Cesar Millan. I will welcome your dog into the pack and reward desirable behaviors and ignore unwanted behaviors. I will provide care to your furbaby as you instruct me to, so your sweetheart has some consistency while you are away. I like to walk with the dog first to build a bond before welcoming into home. I am very sensitive to separation anxiety and adjust accordingly to accommodate the dog's comfort level. I send a lot of photos and videos and will treat your baby like part of the family. The dog in my photo was Ernie. I miss him very much. I decided to start dogsitting to deal with my grief from losing Ernie. I have a warm cuddly home and will treat your baby like my own. I no longer have any pets in the home and I live alone. It is very quiet in my neighborhood and I am a firm believer in the importance of routine. I will do whatever it takes to comfort and protect your baby while you are away so you can have peace of mind. I welcome dirty laundry of yours so your furbaby has your scent to comfort them at night. I am comfortable with all breeds. I do not watch TV or text. Your dog has my 100% undivided attention. I will sing to your dog, run with your dog and stay up with your dog if they can't sleep. Not only do I interview your dog, your dog interviews me. I am very understanding of your dog being comfortable with me and my home and look forward to providing a legendary 5 star dogsitting experience for your dog and your entire family. I am FULLY VACCINATED and happy to provide proof if needed.

Christina A. Is an amazing sitter. She updated us with photos and texts all afternoon when we were away. We will definitely call her again. She was wonderful with Grizzly.

Christina was awesome! She arrived on time and took such great care of Grizzly. We got periodic updates with pictures, and she even left us a note describing all the things they did together. We couldn’t have been happier with her or Rover.

Christina helped us with our Dog Mia. Mia is a beautiful Pit rescue dog we decided to keep with two different colored eyes (!!!) and a sweet nature. We needed a sitter and some instruction on how to work with the dog in some ares, and Christina helped immensely in both areas. As a dog sitter, I can't think of a more attentive, knowledgable person than 'C' (as I call her :)). After time with Mia, I notice she is calm, more happy than usual (i can tell by the tail) and she rests more telling me she was kept busy and active during her time. I look forward to their time together, because I know that Mia will be taken care of - and I know it makes our dog happy. As for instruction, Christina also helped me in this area too. As sweet as Mia is, she still has a dominant nature, and I'm a natural pushover (haha). Christina took time out of her schedule to go over the points of how to work with dogs, by playing fetch with us and showing me how to 'control' the stick around Mia. Her instruction was invaluable and helped me to maintain a relationship with my dog thats based on a natural respect since i know use Christinas tips. I am very grateful to have a knowledgable sitter like Christina for our Dog.

I would recommend Christina as a dogsitter, without any reservation whatsoever. She absolutely adores dogs. She is a naturally loving, caring, and energetic woman that any dog would be lucky to have her as a dogsitter. I would definitely seek her out to dogsit for me.

Information Christina A. would like to know about your pet

Before watching a dog, it is important for me to know if they are socialized with both humans and other animals including squirrels, cats, other dogs; if they have any phobias such as thunder, loud noises, certain types of people or environments and I need to know what their routine is so I may mimic it as much as possible. Being informed of health issues and medications is critical . Knowing if your dog has allergies, is treat or toy motivated, food or object possessive also are important to communicate so I may meet your furbaby where they are at and keep them smiling as often as possible even though they will be missing you dearly. I prefer smaller breeds because of the size of my apartment. Taking on a large breed would be a disservice and I would only consider it once the pet parent approved of the size of the apartment. All clients must sign liability waiver and provide legal id at meet and greet prior to services being confirmed through website. This is non- negotiable.

A typical day

We will go where your dog is comfortable most. Different dogs have different energy levels and phobias. If I am granted permission I will take to Oakland Lake Park to walk. If the dog is fearful, I will take along quiet tree lined streets only or in the back yard. If the dog wants to have fun, we can play with any toys provided and play fetch/frisbee if the weather is good. We can run and I will even rollerblade to get your baby tired to relieve some anxiety. A tired dog is a happy dog. If your baby has any health conditions or a low energy level , I will adjust accordingly. I will meet your dog where they are at and allow them to be who they are while respecting the owners wishes in how they should be cared for. I love giving ear scratches, massages, taking naps, taking photos, playing dress up, and am very open to participating in any fun activities that you suggest for your dog as long as it is legal and safe.
