I have always had pets. I am also that person that tries to save any wild animal I find. How can we not?! Growing up, my family has been cat-focused. We have had three dogs over the years and they were amazing family-dogs. I have always been the family member to care for and spoil them. My day is centered around these munchkins. This is on top of my three-year old son who believes he is also a cat. I guess he knows the affection animals receive and decided its best he get a little extra. Not only is my son at this beautiful age that he is learning responsibility and caring for the animals, but I we have our days pretty free since I recently graduated from grad school. We play in the yard, we go on walks and we simply just love to play. Welcoming new friends into the home would be the ultimate way to spend our time. Due to the fact that we have a small dog and two cats, my son is well-versed in being extra gentle with tails and paws. I am always by my phone and can update with pictures and progress reports as you go about your day. Please, let me know if you have any questions! I have a fenced back yard and a large home. I do not leave animals unattended or outside by themselves. We leave in a residential neighborhood behind Monterey Peninsula College and take leashed walks. If the dog is larger, I would most likely stick to throwing the ball up and down the hill in our backyard. There is lots of room to run and dig (and no shortage of toys). I am home almost the entire day. I walk my son to preschool and back three days a week. After preschool (only three hours long), we go for walks, go to the beach, or play in the back yard. There is endless time for cuddles and play. I take in each dog with as much respect and love as I would my own animals. I do, however, understand that each animal may take time to adjust to a new environment. I keep a large part of the downstairs for my Rover guest and there is full access to our large fenced backyard with a hillside to roam. When I know that my own pets and the guest pet are acquainted, I can open access to the rest of the downstairs. Feeding will always be separate (I learned this the hard way!). Your pets safety, my three-year old and my pets safety is my absolute priority. This is not to deter at all from the complete affection and love they will receive. As for day-to-day care, your loved-one will be walked on a leash or able to play fetch in our back yard to their heart's content. We love playing! I do not take Rover guests to dog parks or the beach unless I am certain on their behavior and ability to go off-leash. Similarly, I will not feed your animal anything that is not provided by you unless you give me the go-ahead on what kind of food they enjoy beyond their kibble or food.
