We have used Chad and Christen many times before always having a positive experience, until this last stay. In the past they have been amazing at keeping us updated on our dogs and posting videos or photos pretty much daily. They were always great about messaging us back usually within a few hours and if it was longer than that they would always apologize. The longest we had waited for a message about our dogs was 12 hours. I am hoping the following is an isolated incident: During the most recent stay we dropped our dogs off at 1pm on a Friday. We were traveling all day Saturday and they had responded that they would upload video to Facebook for use to keep with with our dogs. We did not get an update on our dogs Friday or Saturday (which was fine). When I asked about our dogs on Sunday morning I did not get a response. I waited and asked again Sunday evening. This was very unusual. I became very concerned Sunday night as we still had not heard and update on our dogs and we were three days into our 7 day stay. On Monday (Christmas eve) I messaged them again and did not receive a timely response. I called Rover as I was concerned for Chad and Christen as this had never happened before. I talked with Rover and they reviewed all previous stays and messages and agreed that this was very unusual for them. Rover told me to call them back in a couple hours for an update. When I called back they told me they were unable to reach Chad and Christen and had even called the emergency contact and got no answer. Rover told me that they were going to take this concern to their supervisor and call me back. A couple hours later Rover called me and asked if I had heard anything from Chad and Christen, which I had not. Rover was concerned for them as well. Rover and I discussed doing a wellness check on them, and asked me to call back if I heard anything. I felt this was a little extreme to send police to their home. I was over 700 miles away and could not check things out myself, so I called my emergency contact for the dogs to see if they could go check everything out. I was on the phone the entire time my emergency contact was at Chad and Christen’s home. They attempted to get an answer at the front door, then the back door. When Chad came to the door the emergency contact person stated “Kendra is on the phone and would like to talk with you”. I could hear Chad and he said no, then said something about Christmas party that I couldn’t fully hear and he would contact me in 5 minutes and shut the door in my emergency contacts face. I was very upset when he declined to talk with me and this increased my worry. I waited over 15 minutes for him to contact me, which he did via email. The email was lengthy and stated that he was getting ready to head to the hospital due to the family emergency and would send me a message as soon as they returned from the hospital. Due to lack of communication and declining to speak with me I felt more comfortable with my emergency contact taking my dogs to their home. I responded to the email that I would like for them to take the dogs with them. At this point we were all confused about the situation and did not feel everything was adding up, we wanted record that this had occurred. They called dispatch and officers and agreed to meet at another location. The officer arrived at the other location 40 minutes later and they then went to the home. I was expecting no one to be home as there was a family emergency and they were on their way to the hospital. When the officer arrived 45 minutes later with my emergency contact they were still home. I was very surprised. They then accused my emergency contact of jumping the fence, which the officer could clearly see was a untrue as it was not locked when he arrived. He then also accused the emergency contact of damaging the window in his garage, which had been broken when I dropped my dogs off on Friday. After getting my dogs, which I had emailed him that I would like for them to take the dogs. I received a long string of unprofessional messages on Rover including “ I hope karma comes back on you”. I contacted Rover as they had requested I do and informed them of the situation. They offered a 50% refund of the additional days in the stay. They also told me they would be investigating this event and that would determine if I got the other 50% of the stay back. Later the same day after Rover cancelled the remaining part of the stay and offered the partial refund, I received another message via Rover commenting “I also appreciate you are canceling and taking the budgeted money for the next week out of our pockets right here at Christmas.” A couple days later we were refunded the remaining 50% for the remaining stay by Rover. In total I had paid over $600 for a 9 day stay with the expectation that my dogs would received 24 hour supervision (as advertised) and hadn’t received an update on my dogs in 4 days. A simple message stating that there was a family emergency, they had an event to go to for a brief time, or a brief phone call would have resolved the issue.

Chad and Christen took excellent care of our dog Harvick. Chad sent a video everyday and let us know how he was doing. It was wonderful to get away knowing Harvick was in excellent care. They even washed his bed cover. I will highly recommend them and be using them again.

Chad and Christen are so awesome!!! This was our first time using a sitter outside of our home. We couldn't have asked for better care. They treated Booth like he was family. Chad sent daily emails and videos of Booth that helped us have peace of mind on our trip. Booth especially was sweet on Christen and loved when she came home! When we picked Booth up he was clean & happy. We will definitely be using Chad & Christen for future stays. Thank you both for taking such good care of our little man!!

Max did great for his first visit. We were able to drop him off and pick him up at times that were good for our travel times. Max was in great shape when We picked him up and as most puppies glad to be back home.
