Vet tech w/ a love for all animals

Pet care experience

I am a Veterinary Assistant at Dogwood Animal Hospital. Also, I spent 6 years in the Army as an Animal Care Specialist, which is basically a Veterinary Technician without the civilian certification. I'm taking online classes to get my certification as a Veterinary Technician. I have been trained in animal CPR and first aid. I have been trained how to administer oral and injectable medications. Any one who knows me would say that I'm a dog person. There are very few dogs that I have met in my life who don't like me. I have pet-sitted multiple peoples' dogs and have never once had a complaint about how well I took care of their pet. I am very punctual. I believe in always being on time, usually early. Also, I have access to Fort Bragg. So I can help out anyone located on base.

I worked with Christa during my brief employment at the military veterinary Clinic in Hawaii before I moved out of state. She was kind and knowledge to staff as well as every animal that came in. Also on several occasions she came to my home and helped me with my 2 dogs and cat while my husband was out of town. Even my older dog with severe anxiety that doesn't even like some of my family, let alone strangers, loved her.

Christa has knowledge, skill, experience and most of all, love of all animals to do ANY position involving any animal! I've known her personally for over five years and she worked for my business and helped with the our pit/bully breed rescue. Having experience as a vet tech in the Army just makes her even more qualified. She can do anything for you pet that is needed that does not need a vet. (ie: bathe, dip, nail trims, anal expression, etc). Your pet will be just as loved on and taken care of as if you were still there!

Information Christa T. would like to know about your pet

Before sitting a dog, I would like to know a general history of the dog, such as name, breed, age, likes and dislikes, medical conditions. I also prefer to meet with the dog before the pet sitting occurs so that the dog can be introduced to me and get a feel for me while the owner is still around. That also gives me a chance to bond with the dog a little so that they will feel comfortable around me while the owner is gone. I have no breed preferences. I love all dogs and enjoy interacting with them.

A typical day

I will take the dog on long walks around the neighborhood and to dog parks if there are any near by. I will play fetch, tug of war, and any other kind of game the dog enjoys playing. The dog will get lots of cuddles and affection from me as long as the dog is comfortable with it.
