Pet care experience
Most people call me Jaz, and I was a registered veterinary technician and have been pet sitting for over 25 years. I have an Associate degree in Vet Tech and a B.S. in Fisheries and Wildlife Sciences. I have worked with both wild and domestic animals for as long as I can remember. My certifications include first aid, CPR, administering medication, and proper care and handling techniques for all animals. Right now, my husband, kids, and I have a dog Jack Russell Terrier named Dobby, and two cats, Nala and Bella. My life is dedicated to not only caring for, but understanding all living creatures. I am well versed in animal behavior and medical needs, so your pet will be in very capable, loving hands. I have experience dealing with the entire spectrum of breeds, ages, and special needs––able to administer medications by mouth or injection––. I am a loving and caring person who adores animals. I've made it my goal in life to help our furry/feathered/scaled friends. I have experience with dogs (all sizes), cats, birds, turtles, marine mammals and others. We do not have the capacity to foster but we also tend to adopt any fosters that cross our path. Saving animals is part of my family motto. I have worked in kennels and veterinary offices as a Registered Veterinary Technician. I've worked with dogs from all walks of life. I've spent most of my years with huskies. They're incredibly active dogs. I am available most weekends unless otherwise specified in my calendar. I require a meet and greet before the visits. I cannot take last minute clients due to family needs. Providing excellent customer service is incredibly important for both the pet and the owner. I always set up a meet and greet before the visits to ensure that the owner and the pet are comfortable with me. I find it crucial for owners to know their pet caretakers. During the visits, I take multiple photos of the pets, provide playtime and walks, feed and refill water bowls as needed, and inform the owner of everything the pet does during the visit. If pets are in need of daily medication or extra care due to medical issues, I make sure to provide this as well. I keep the pet areas clean and put away leashes and harnesses where they belong. Spending time with the pet while the owner is not home is important for pet socialization and for the pet to get to know me. The first time I met a dog was when I was born. My family had an Australian Shepherd named Lady and she was the first to greet me coming home from the hospital as a newborn. She passed away at the age of 17, I was 4 years old. We immediately adopted a Husky/Wolf mix. I grew up with a fond love for animals, so I always felt confident around animals. I was the child that offered pet sitting services to neighbors (at no charge) just so I could spend time with the neighborhood pets. From experience, I learned all about dogs, cats, and birds, and how to handle them at a young age. This then grew into a degree. I am an RVT. I have extensive schooling in animal medical care and handling. I am active, have raised huskies (one of the most active dog breeds), and I know how to read animal behavior. I am very aware of body language and how to interact with pets. If the owner allows, I always have treats with me, I play games with their toys, and I make them feel comfortable by crouching low so they can sniff me and get to know who I am. It's important for the pet to know that I am there for them and I will keep them safe. Outgoing, punctual, and compassionate. I am always willing to meet owners and pets and I make sure that all walks are in the time frame given by the owner. Being compassionate is important in animal care.
Reviews
Christa was wonderful! She takes pet care very seriously and constantly kept us updated on how our cat was doing while we were out of town with pictures and check-ins about his behavior. 10/10 will hire again. ?
Christa looked after our cat Loki. She was very communicative and professional. Our cat warmed up to her right away. Great sitter!
Christa was amazing with my 2 kitties! She was very professional, communicative and shared lots of pics during her visits which put my mind at ease. I definitely recommend her and would hire again!
Christa took great care of our senior dog, who requires diaper changes and assistance with mobility. If you have a dog in a similar condition, Christa is highly recommended.

I ensure that each pet is handled with love and care. I do meet and greets prior to the visits to allow your pet to get to know me.
Information Christa M. would like to know about your pet
Please note where the best walking areas are so the dogs can have great exercise. Please inform me if your pet has medical/special needs and what they are so that I can be prepared. I expect a note from owner explaining where bowls, food, leashes, and toys are located in the home. Also, if medication needs to be administered, this should be written out as well. If the animal has a favorite toy or activity, it is helpful to have it ready as they enjoy being stimulated with toys they're comfortable with. Please make note of any extra care needed. I always make sure to have playtime with each pet (as long as owner allows it). Any animals in my care will be fed and walked on time and taken care of properly. Your pet will receive the best care!
A typical day
I always ask the owner where the best walking routes are to provide the best walk for the pet. I love to walk dogs in the forest, on trails, and around parks.
