Good times at The Floof Shack LLC!
Pet care experience
Do you have a dog that is high maintenance and you’re fearful that another person doesn’t have the experience to take care of him/her? Is your dog extremely dog aggressive and you’re having a hard time finding a place to board your dog that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg? Is your dog not neutered or spayed and are you running into places refusing to accept your dog? Do you choose to minimally vaccinate your dog and places refuse to accept your dog? I have been in your shoes for all of the above scenarios! For years, I could not find someone to watch my dog aggressive dog, nor could I find someone to watch my unneutered dog. No commercial places would accept them. I was terrified to entrust a stranger to watch them—my dogs are large and strong and I feared they might get injured. I realized there were others in the same boat as me, so I started Floof Shack as an alternative for dogs that may have a hard time finding boarding elsewhere. My experience extends beyond my personal dogs. I’m an approved foster with Lucky Mutts Rescue and have fostered and boarded a variety of dogs. As such, I have experience with a wide range of dogs and behavioral issues. I have done everything from whelping and raising a litter from scratch to tending to senior dogs to dogs recovering from major surgeries with mobility issues. I have worked with many sizes and breeds. We have no breed discrimination in this house! My husband and I live in a large, single family home with a fully fenced large backyard. It is an excellent place for dogs to run and get lots of exercise! We have spent years working with dogs who may not get along with other dogs or cats, so we have specially designed our house to keep everyone completely separate if necessary. We do crate everyone at night and when we can’t supervise in order to ensure everyone’s safety. We happily provide multiple picture and text updates throughout your dog’s stay! We want you to feel at ease knowing your dog is safe and having tons of fun. About us! My husband works from home full time, and I work full time in Middleton. We are generally pretty flexible on pick up and drop off times so just drop us a line to discuss what accommodations you require. We have no children. Our dogs are often on adventures traveling all over the US as they compete in sports! We miss them when they are out competing so we are happy to welcome other dogs into our home. We work hard to provide a safe environment for your pet. We are a registered LLC and we have pet boarding insurance for our business. We treat our dogs seasonally for heartworm and fleas/ticks, and we deworm our dogs monthly. Our dogs are up to date on their core vaccinations. Bleach is our best friend! That being said, we cannot be held responsible for any contagious or zoonotic illnesses that your pet could possibly acquire. You are also responsible for any damage that your pet may cause to property or people. By booking with us, you consent to these terms. We understand that pets can be very stressed being away from home; we strive to make them comfortable and be very communicative with you in order to prevent any situations from occurring. Please be open with us about your pet’s needs as it is essential to everyone’s safety. I’m committed to force-free methods and we ascribe to the Pet Professional’s Guild stance of no pain, no force, and no fear. We ask that you do not bring your dog to our home in a pinch/prong collar, choke collar, or electronic/shock collar. These methods will not be used while your dog is in our care. If this is a requirement, please seek boarding elsewhere. Please note that in order to protect the health and safety of the animals in our care, we do not permit “tours” of our home. We are not currently conducting meet and greets due to health and safety concerns. We are happy to provide pictures and references if requested. We thank you for respecting our home and those who dwell in it. Contact me to discuss your concerns of your persnickety pooch. I believe you will be assured and confident that Floof Shack is the absolute best care available for your furry family member. Please feel welcome to contact us with any concerns or questions not addressed in our main bio! We are here to make you and your pet feel comfortable.
Reviews
Exceptional care every time! Christa and Arne consistently provided outstanding service, ensuring my Aussie Russet is happy and well-cared for!
We're extremely happy that we found Arne and Christa. They took care of our dog for almost an entire month, while we were overseas. They were in constant contact by providing us daily pictures and updates. Our dog came back in great health and good spirits. We appreciated the detailed information provided, especially when our dog was under the weather for a day or two - it put our minds at ease that Arne & Christa truly cared for the well being of our pooch.
Very happy with the care Cosmo gets when he stays with Christa and Arne. He is always happy to stay there and play in the yard with friends.
They were great my dog shadow has temperamental problems sometimes and they talked to me the whole time, gave me updates and pictures!

***We do not schedule meet and greets. We understand if this is important to you and understand if you’d like to seek another sitter who does.*** ***Dogs in our care MUST BE crate trained. No exceptions. We are not a good fit for dogs who are not crate trained.*** ***Please note: We do our best to answer requests within 24 hours. On weekends, Christa travels to dog shows all over the country (and she’s in charge of the Rover bookings!) We appreciate your patience. We may respond back outside of “normal office hours.” We are sending responses at a time that works for us—please only respond when convenient to you!*** ❤️❤️❤️❤️ - Is your dog crate trained? We crate our dog guests at night and when we cannot supervise them for their safety. If your dog is not comfortable crated or in an exercise pen, we are not a good fit for your dog. - Has your dog ever bitten a person (out of fear or aggression)? If yes, please describe the details - If your bitch is in heat or will be in heat, please let me know. I am adequately equipped and prepared to prevent accidental breedings but I need to know ahead of time. There will be an extra surcharge to cover the extra cleaning and diligence needed if your bitch is actively in heat. - Is your dog fearful of anything? Example: storms, men, children, fireworks, etc - Is your dog a runner/escape artist/Houdini? - Is there anything I can do to make your dog more comfortable? Please tell me anything and everything about your dog—the good, the bad, and the ugly! You won’t scare me away. Letting me know about any behavioral issues helps me prepare to set your dog up for success in my home. It’s my goal to make this visit extremely enjoyable for everyone involved. - Does your dog have any dietary allergies or restrictions? - Does your dog have any health issues, past or current, I should know about? If your dog requires extensive medical care, there will be an additional surcharge. - If your dog’s veterinarian is not listed in their profile, please let us know which veterinarian your dog sees in the event of an emergency - We are happy to clip nails at an additional $15 per dog. Just let us know at the time of booking if you’d like that done. If your dog is too fearful for the clipping, we will happily refund you

A typical day
Your dog will have access to our fully fenced and very large backyard which is full of dog toys (and in the summer, we have a kiddie pool out for the dogs, too.) It’s a great space for dogs to run and play with each other. Inside, there are even more toys (if you can believe it!) Your dog is welcome to play with any and all of them! We find that our Rover dogs go home tired and happy!
