Pet care experience
I have over 8 years professional experiencing working with all types of dogs! I have worked with cats my whole life. I've also worked with chickens! I work with a spectrum of dog breeds, sizes, mental/behavioral issues, and physical disabilities. If you have a special needs dog (or cat!) I am most likely able to help. I also know pet first aid and CPR. You don't need to worry--your pet is in good hands! I have a Bachelor's Degree in Family Science from the University of Maryland College Park. I am a formerly Registered Behavior Technician and now do freelance writing. I work part time with people and part time with animals; the purrfect balance. I have my own cat named Bella. Chrisie is simply the best! She has cared for our 3 cats, dog, and fish several times now. - Does your dog have any medical or behavioral special needs? - Are they currently exhibiting problem behaviors that I need to be aware of? (IE aggression, eating disorder, fear of unfamiliar humans, severe defensiveness towards other dogs/humans while on walks, etc.) - Do they have a strict outdoor schedule? (IE needs to be let out no longer than every 3 hours) I would also need to know your dog's routine, food instructions, vet information, special house instructions, etc. It is best to have them printed out and left on the counter but email (or through this app) works too! A meet & greet may be mandatory for the safety and satisfaction of your dog!
A typical day
I love walking on trails if there are any available near your home. Otherwise I map out a walk around the neighborhood and we walk at your dog's pace! I give your dog the time they need to sniff to their heart's desire (unless they are prone to eating trash, then I am very cautious with sniffing). I take lots of pictures! Let me know if you prefer to have your photos texted or emailed to you during your trip! =) I love playing fetch or tug-of-war. I give lots of pets, some treats, and enjoy snuggling on the couch. I also don't mind if your dog sleeps in the bed with me--in fact I really enjoy it! I charge a base rate of $50/night and $15/day visit. I typically arrive around 7/8pm and leave around 8/9am. Please see the charges section of my profile to see additional fees for more pets. Day visits are about 30 minutes and I will play with or walk your dog, depending on their needs. I typically walk a dog 1-2 times daily and let them out every 4-6 hours. If your dog needs to be let out more than that or is high energy and needs more exercise please let me know! I am happy to water your plants as well. Additional charges may occur if your plants require more than 15 minutes of daily care. I can also feed chickens! I thoroughly clean up after myself and leave the house as it was when you left. Please inquire if you need additional cleaning services.
