Pet care experience
With over 20 years of dog care experience and the privilege of having a house with a newly built large pet safe fenced in backyard, I can guarantee that your pet will be safe and well taken care of. Even though the dogs have access to the backyard, I would never leave a pet unattended back there. I only watch one dog per time so they can have my full attention. I have been dog boarding, walking, bathing, and sitting for years and love what I do. I am passionate about providing excellent care to all animals. I have experience with everything from large, hyperactive dog breeds to old, geriatric pets that need constant medication. If the owner wishes, I can take their dogs on long hikes or runs, however, safety is my top priority. My tall fenced in back yard is fortified even with an underground metal wire for preventing escape artist breeds. If the pet would rather sleep all day as opposed to exercise, I have several couches and pet beds. Unless requested by the owner, I would never kennel a pet. However, I do have a large kennel available if their pet is the shy den type. My beloved dog of 15 years just passed away so there will not be any other animals in the house. She required medication several times a day and was a special needs breed. I understand that even a short dog walk requires being prepared, including bringing a dog coat/rain jacket, water, water bowl, doggy bags, treats/medications as necessary. I also walk several client’s dogs on a regular basis so I am a trusted dog walker in the community so you can have peace of mind when entering your home while you’re away!
Reviews
My fur family was well taken care of. Chris sent lot of pictures, looked my dog had really fun time with Chris.
We found Chris when our other arrangements unexpectedly fell through last minute. Chris was very accommodating and helpful. He sent pictures and updates on our dogs. From start to finish, we very much appreciated our experience!
Chris is an awesome pet sitter! He did a wonderful job taking care of my pups, Rumi and Nala. He accommodated our stay with only a few days notice and was easy to communicate with. He sent plenty of sweet photos and updates during their stay :)
My wife and I were in a pinch as both are go-to Rover sitters were unavailable during our recent 10 day trip out of the country. We opted to go with Chris based on his ratings and that he lived near a park. Chris did a wonderful job with watching Dexter and ensured he got enough exercise each day. He even took him camping which is something Dex really enjoys. I was pleased with the amount of updates I received from Chris and i was never concerned for Dex during our trip. Would certainly consider Chris again in the future.

Information Chris N. would like to know about your pet
I love all animals and breeds, but every dog I sit must at least be potty trained. I’ve owned dogs/cats/reptiles/small mammals my entire life. Cared for sick pets at home, work, animal shelters and have administered medications. Volunteered at No-Kill animals shelters. Worked for vets/groomers/pet stores. Taken Zoology Classes.
A typical day
I love hiking and nature, so your high energy breed would get daily exercise around many of Portland’s hiking trails. Frequent trips to Normandale Park, Portland’s best dog park. Comfort of a large warm house with plenty of dog beds, animal loving roommates, and although I’d never leave your dog unattended, they’d have constant access to my large backyard with a fence and gate which I reinforced to prevent jumping or digging breeds from escape. Car riding in style with a special dog safety “hammock” + dynamic seatbelt (for dogs with harness) , plenty of plush blankets, chew toys, and portable water bowl. **During extreme temperatures, I would never take an animal with me in the car**

I am currently working from home and have the time to watch your pet 100% of the time. I live near a big dog park and plenty of hiking trails so we would both be getting great exercise outdoors.
