Pet care experience
Smoke free home with large super secure fenced yard in Central Austin. I am a retired developer and work from home so your baby will get non stop attention. I only board small to medium size dogs (Less than 30 pounds, some rare exceptions, feel free to ask). I specialize and care for lots of puppies, elderly dogs that need extra medical care. Also dogs that are extremely shy and not usually good with other dogs. I have worked with a lot of foster dogs who were abused and need extra attention. They will feel safe and get some social therapy along the way. Dogs usually get at least 3 ninety second hugs daily and a 5-10 minute massage. If you wish they can get lots of outdoor supervised playtime in our extremely secure backyard All dogs are separated at feeding times of 8 am and 4 pm, unless you feed more and have a slightly different schedule. I am used to serving regular dry, wet, mixtures, raw foods, and administering medications including injectables. I work from home so your pet will have 24/7 supervision and attention, unless I have a quick errand and they will be crated in rare situations I don’t have a sitter. I am never gone more than an hour or have someone here with them. I have been hosting the 1200+ member Austin Chihuahua & small friends community monthly meet up for over 18 years. Your dogs will be drowned in love and affection. Hundreds of referrals available. My hours are usually 6 am - 7 pm for drop off and pick ups. I am usually flexible if you need different hours, but my Sunday hours are pretty sacrosanct and are from 10 am - Noon and 8 pm to 10 pm. I do this professionally since I retired from programming. I usually have 10 daycare and 10 boarders and a full time assistant . The majority are under 5-7 pounds. If you don’t want your pups in a pack environment, this place is not for you. Usually start feeding around 7 AM. I do separate with crates during feeding. I have 25 crates, just let me know if your dog is not used to being crated. Please write your dog’s name and the brand on the food bag or container if not in the original bag. You do not need to break down into individual meals. I use recycled paper bowls for hygiene. So please only bring food and medication. I have bedding washed commercially every couple days. All furniture is crates or low raised dog beds. Please don’t bring any toys or blankets, they will get destroyed by the pack and I’ll have to replace.. Pets have access to most parts of the house. I have video cameras recording all areas they have access too. I try to clean everyone’s eyes, ears, paws and booties nightly, but sometimes it’s every other day. I use barbicide to clean the the eye brushes if they have eye funk and new gloves after each pup to help avoid conjunctivitis (pink eye). I only give the the food and treats brought by the owners. If they are not eating after second time I put their food down, I put a little soft canned food or chicken, rice and probiotic to help stimulate their appetite. Please let me know if they have any food allergies. I do give out non rawhide highly digestible pork twists in the afternoon and evening during chill time. Let me know if your pup has resource aggression so I can make sure they are crated when getting treats. Most pups sleep wherever they like. If you prefer your pup to be crated please let me know. I will crate unless they are big criers at bedtime. This is a communal situation and dogs pass sickness just like kids in kindergarten. Water bowls are cleaned and disinfected many times during the day. Please let me know if your dog is a splasher in the water bowls, I won’t be able to take them, that provides a health risk to every one. If your dog has GI issues or soft stool, I will change their diet to boiled chicken, brown rice, and fortiflora probiotic. Please let me know if they have any allergy or soft stool prior to dropping off. I do require all vaccinations be up to date, and require bordatella to be administered at least 5 days prior to evaluation, daycare, or boarding.

Great Service! Cuca is very happy
Chris was wonderful with my nervous dog Stella. I received regular photo updates of how she was doing throughout my 10 day trip. The fact that she wags her tail and cuddles up to him (when she is normally afraid of strangers, esp. men) speaks volumes! She also seemed very well fed and well adjusted when she got home :) Thank you Chris so much for taking excellent care of her. Means so much to know I can take trips knowing she's in good hands.
Chris was great! I was super nervous leaving my girl for the first time but I received regular photos and updates and felt like she was in great hands. Would definitely recommend Chris and book again!
Chris is the best, seriously. Our pup stayed with him for 2 weeks while we were traveling and this was our first time using Rover - we were a bit nervous because our Penny has some separation anxiety. Chris would send us videos, pictures and texts with updates and I could tell from the pictures that she felt right at home. This was the best experience for us and we’ll continue to book with Chris for any future needs. 10/10 highly recommend!!

Since I only take vaccinated puppies, I don’t require that males are neutered up to 11 months. I will take females that are not spade if they are not in heat. I had a Chihuahua for 15 years with a liver shunt so I understand if you need to skip procedure.
A typical day
Your dogs will get 24/7 supervision. They get a few hours of supervised outdoor time if not too hot out. I will give extra attention if they are not super socialized. Leash aggression is much different than being anti social so shout if you have any questions?
