Friends say I must smell like a dog biscuit which I think is a compliment for how dogs and I relate. Perhaps that's why I've been an auntie to so many of their pets. I am also experienced foster for traumatized rescue dogs. Most come from kill shelters across the border, and travel for 48 hours to reach Vancouver, and my home. I have oodles of love and patience to share, and seeing their transformation in (often) just a few days is a joy. I live near the beach, Jericho parklands and enjoy dog walks at Pacific Spirit Park. On Sundays, I like to hike the North Shore mountains with dog walkers and while many of those dogs scramble the trails off-leash, I wouldn't consider offering that perk to any animal in my temporary care. Before accepting any overnight stays in my home, I prefer to meet the owners so they feel confident that their dog is is excellent hands.
