Pet care experience
Hello! I volunteer as a canine caretaker at Berkeley Humane. I don't have a dog of my own, but I love to walk, feed, and socialize your dog friends. I'm an active runner and enjoy being outdoors, and I can give your active pup the exercise it needs. I'm also just as happy to go on chill walks or snuggle with your dog if they're not interested in running around. I practice positive reinforcement in all my dog interactions, rewarding with attention, praise, pets, or treats when appropriate. I don't mind working with your dog if they're nervous, jumpy, mouthy, or they pull on their leash during walks.

A typical day
I love to walk, run, and hike, and I look forward to helping your dog experience the outdoors! My car makes it easy to get to trails in Oakland or Berkeley if you want to get your dog out of the neighborhood. We can also play fetch in a park. Or comfortably snuggle during drop-in visits if that's more your dog's speed.

Availability
I'm a software engineer currently taking time off in between jobs. This leaves me with plenty of time to volunteer at Berkeley Humane and to take care of your precious canine. I'm available for dog walking and drop-in visits on most weekdays during the day. My small apartment isn't a good boarding environment, so I'm happy to spend time with your dogs outdoors or at your place.
