Dogs are a huge part of my life!

Pet care experience

I have 15 years of experience caring for and making relationships with dogs. I started house sitting and caring for an energetic border collie named CJ when I was 10, and would do so multiple times per year, making sure that he got sufficient exercise to keep his active mind occupied. I grew up with two large dogs. One was a Labrador retriever, Andy, who I needed to consistently keep away from stealing food from the counters. The other, Chase, was an energetic English setter, who was great with people but very afraid of other dogs. As such, I have a range of experience caring for and being attentive to keeping dogs happy and safe! As Andy and Chase have recently passed away, I am joining Rover to fill the void they have left me. I want my own dog soon, but cannot accommodate for one with my current living situation. I will care for your dog as if they are my own during the time that I cannot have one :)

Chris did an excellent job watching/walking our two dogs. He came over to meet them first and they immediately warmed to him - he is clearly really good with dogs and knows how to get to know them. On his fourth visit, one of my dogs did her happy howl/trill that she does when a family member comes home, so we could really tell how much she liked him! I would absolutely recommend Chris as a daily dogwalker or dog sitter.

Safety, trust & environment

I understand that each owner has different rules associated with their dog, and I will always abide by those rules enforced by the owner. I won’t ever leave your dog home alone for more time than what you are comfortable with, and will be as accommodating as possible for the dog’s needs and safety (medication, particular fears like other dogs/loud noises, etc).

Information Chris C. would like to know about your pet

Let me know ahead of time if your dog has any special needs. My dog of 13 years, Chase, was scared of other dogs and very territorial, so I have experience handling dogs with similar nuances. I’ve also attended to dogs who need medication and, at times, injuries that required re-wrapping bandages and cleaning open wounds.

A typical day

I know the local trail systems very well, and would love to take your dog for a hike in the middlesex fells if they need extra exercise or love the smells in the woods! If I do not have the extra time to do so, I always like to find patches of green space for dogs to enjoy the smells and play.
