Our 18-month old, Mocha, had recently become aware of what a trip to Petsmart's PetsHotel meant and on our last trip there, it was a struggle for the staff to get her into the back. She also didn't eat much - not even the snacks we ordered for her - and she could never do Doggie Day Camp because she's part pit. The only play time she got was the 30 minutes we signed her up for every day. I decided to check out Rover just so Mocha wouldn't have to be in an environment full of barking, howling, whining dogs for 24 hours a day because I'm sure that's what was contributing to her anxiety. I found Chris - because he was 5 minutes from me - and he had a 5-star rating. Before we went on our trip, Chris scheduled a meet-and-greet with us to ensure we were happy with Mocha's temporary home and that she got along with everyone. The great thing was it wasn't only Chris and his wife as the previous reviewers mention but an amazing lady named Melissa also resides there. Mocha was nervous and began barking at everyone immediately but Melissa took the time to make Mocha feel comfortable and by the end of our visit (which was close to an hour), Mocha was friendly with everyone there. On the day of our flight, she sat with Mocha until she felt settled and we were able to slip quietly away. During the trip, we received updates on Mocha - text messages and pics - so we felt we were still very much in touch with our pup. Chris is very friendly and responsive - same goes for everyone in that home - especially the wonderful kids. I'm certain Mocha received plenty of love and attention - and all of it focused solely on her - not on the other two dozen or so other dogs being kenneled at PetsHotel. As far as Mocha's temp home, the home was large and immaculately kept so I felt comfortable as soon as I walked in the door. My first experience with Rover and with Chris was outstanding and I would highly recommend them both to any dog parents who are on the fence about using a service like this. If available, I will ask Chris, exclusively, to watch Mocha on all of our future trips!

Chris is such an awesome guy and my pets love him! He is also quick to respond to my texts or calls if I have any questions or concerns. Always goes above and beyond and even brings my paper and mail in when I ask. His wife is also an added helper and she's fantastic!
