It's always hard to answer exactly how many years of experience you have caring for dogs when you've been doing it your whole life, but if you go by when I started getting paid it would be some time in high school. I started sitting for neighbors and family when they went out of town, and in college I began offering pet sitting and walking services to a broader clientele. I also began volunteering with my local humane society, and later interned there and at a wolf sanctuary. In 2015, I began working in doggie daycare and boarding facilities for about 2 years before opening my own pet care business from home. Working in boarding facilities gave me tons of experience handling anywhere from 5 to 50+ dogs (and cats) a day, however, I much prefer the more intimate setting of personal pet care because it allows for plenty of one-on-one time with each animal that just ins't possible in a kennel setting. My fur kids: I have a 6 year old husky/mix, named Adakias, and a 3 year old (deaf) Australian cattle dog mix, named Moon. I also have three cats: Binx, Tohru, and Patchouli. If wanted I offer baths with Nature's Specialties professional grooming shampoos.
