For in house visits during the morning, I make sure the dog has been given food, then I take them on a walk and make sure they get the chance to use the restroom on the walk. If they don’t go on the walk then I will give it about an hour or so (or however long the client prefers) and take them out again to go. I make sure to give the animal lots of love by petting them and playing with them. Before I leave, I make sure they have enough food in their bowl and that their water is filled up. For walking, I make sure that the leash isn’t too loose or too tight, I make sure the collar is on correctly, and then I will start the walk. During the walk, I make sure that I keep the leash closer to me as we are crossing streets and intersections. If we pass other animals/dogs, I make sure that the dog is closer to me that way they don’t try to run towards the other animals. If the owner allows, I will let the dogs interact but if that is not preferred I make sure that the dog stays with me. For in house visits for cats, I will make sure they have been given food, I will check their litter box and empty it if needed. I will give them water. I will groom them if that is needed. I make sure to pet them and give them lots of love because I know most cats love their pets. If they like playing with toys I will spend some time doing that with them. Before I leave, I will check everything again and make sure the cat is feeling comfortable and loved. :)
