Dogs are family-my home is theirs.

Pet care experience

I am a retired teacher who has had dogs for over 30 years. I look forward to spending time with your canine family members. Dogs seem to sense that I will watch out for them, and they gravitate toward me. My experience includes caring for blind pets as well as seniors and puppies. Your pet will enjoy our mountain home. Our home is located on two acres, so your dogs will have plenty of room to roam. We have a large fenced area for playtime. The neighborhood is off the beaten track. Dogs will be walked around our pet-friendly neighborhood where they will make friends with other canine residents. Your dog's safety is my primary concern. If your pet does not enjoy the company of others, I will ensure that he gets a walk without "visiting." I have years of experience with both types of dogs-the very social ("Come on, we need to keep walking") to the anti-social (barking and pulling the leash). I can accommodate both personalities. My husband is a retired police officer and has a heart of gold when it comes to dogs. He used to get up every night at 3:00am (without complaint) to feed our Dalmatian in her senior years. We have both dedicated our lives to serving others, and see pet-sitting as an enjoyable extension of that experience. Your pet will be very comfortable here. Our downstairs is completely doggy friendly, and that is where they will hang out with us when we aren't playing outside. I will never take more than two dogs, so your pet will get the attention that they deserve. Our yard is not completely fenced, but we are the last home on our street which is rarely traveled on. If you choose to have me visit your pet in your own home, my goal will be to give them the love and attention that they are used to when you are with them. Please fully complete your profile as I will not accept visits without knowing the details about your pet to determine whether I can accommodate your request. Overnights guests typically "check in" in the afternoon, and are picked up in the afternoon as well. Exceptions must be agreed to prior to booking. Extra charges may apply if drop off and pickup hours vary by more than a couple of hours.

I am so pleased with the care Cheryl gave to my dog Rosie while I was away. She provided a loving and safe environment and updated me on Rosie's progress with daily photos. Since Rosie isn't always social with other dogs, I appreciated that Cheryl only sits for one dog at a time unless they are part of the same family. I was relaxed knowing Rosie was in great hands. I highly recommend Cheryl as a pet sitter and will definitely use her again the next time I am away.

Cheryl is a great dog sitter. We used her for our Aussie that does not like being separated from us. She was wonderful with him. She was so easy to work with, answering all requests promptly. Her love for dogs is obvious and we highly recommend her. Thanks Cheryl!
