As if your dog was my dog

Pet care experience

I moved to Fort Collins 3 years ago, worked at the Fort Collins Vet Emergency and Rehab Hospital where I held a position as a Veterinary Assistant and Front Desk for two and a half years. I have medical training and am CPR certified. Recently I started a new position at the Dog Pawlour, a daycare and grooming facility for cats and dogs. I am extremely passionate, caring, active and believe that all animals deserve to have stimulating, fun and full lives. I am a caregiver at heart and know I excel in this field. I have just begun my formal education in veterinary medicine and have worked with canines as well as volunteering with wildlife in a rehabilitation facility for the past 8 years. During this time I have developed a love for other people's dogs and animals in need. I am confident that I provide irreplaceable love and care. As I am prone to become attached your furry friend will be treated as if they were my own. *DISCLAIMER* if your pet requires constant supervision or cannot be left alone for more than an hour, negotiating a new rate will be required.

Safety, trust & environment

Small, low energy and elderly dogs would be a good fit to board in my small apartment if that's necessary. Any others, I would prefer to come to you/them.

Information Cherise S. would like to know about your pet

Are they friendly on leash? Are they fearful of anything specific? Do they have any allergies? Is there anything they especially love to do? Are they animal friendly or do they prefer people? Or vice versa?

A typical day

Based on your dog's specific needs and energy level I am very adaptable. I am able and willing to walk up to 5 miles a day, play fetch in fields of grass, spend time at dog parks or take a trip to the lake (seasonally). If less exercise is required I am happy to spend some time playing with toys, tug of war, cuddling up on the couch, or going out for frequent potty breaks. I am also currently in the process of becoming TTOUCH certified and can offer another calming and soothing method for older and more anxious pups. Working at a dog daycare for 8 years has taught me all I need to know about dogs of all ages, breeds and temperaments. I know how to tend to each of their needs best. Even still I take any and all opportunities to learn more and be able to give all that I can to these pets.
