My name is Cherie, and I have always had a house full of furry friends. My six children are grown and I am officially an empty nester so my husband and I decided to down size in Lincoln Park, near DePaul University. Its wonderful being in the heart of the city and having the opportunity to re visit my old haunts. My pups love the tree lined streets and look forward to their daily walks. There is such a wealth of options to explore...a walk to the beach, a walk to the zoo, a walk to the nature center or just a walk around Lincoln Park. Every day is a Good Day when you have happy pups in tow!!! About this sitter: My name is Cherie Lauer, I am 60 years old and a mother of six grown children, ages 17 through 27. Now that everyone is in high school, college, and graduate school, I have free time on my hands. I have two dogs, a Bassett Hound "Lou", a Cocker Spaniel "Roscoe". Why I love dog sitting Wow, I have owned dogs my entire life! I firmly believe and joke with my children that "A hairy home is a happy home". I grew up as a girl in Chicago with two cocker spaniels and throughout the years have raised my children with several yellow labs, a lab/ german shepherd mix, and most recently a cocker spaniel and basset hound have diversified the mix. My experience administering medication Yes - I have cared for several older dogs that require pill boxes full of medication at specific times throughout the day. I am comfortable administering medication and have the patience to care for an older or sick dog.
