Pet care experience
Hi! My name is Chelsea. I am an enormous lover of dogs of every size and breed. From a young age, I made it my goal to learn as much about as many different breeds as possible, and I am now able to apply that knowledge to you in bringing you the best specified dog care possible. I will care for yours as if they were my own! As a proud dog mom and pet sitter with over ten years of experience, I know how to provide pups with a warm, happy home away from home. What I love most about dogs is that they are always positive and ready to go! Whether it's a trip to the pet store or just a trip downstairs to get a glass of water, dogs are always excited to be a part of your life. Who doesn't love feeling so loved and special? I love my own dogs so much, so I like to know that I am helping someone else's furry babies while they are away! Currently, I have two dogs of my own — Georgia (an Irish Setter) and Daisy (a Great Pyrenees/Australian Shepherd mix). They are the loves of my life! My favorite thing is spending time with them. They are both large dogs, but with very different personalities. Georgia is super energetic, obedient, and eager to please. Daisy is a little bit of a couch potato and has a headstrong personality. My experience handling their conflicting personalities and training styles has given me an excellent grasp on working with different types of dogs. In addition to the dogs, I have also owned 3 cats and almost two dozen chickens! In the past, I have also owned fish, turtles, rabbits, and hamsters, so I am quite capable and comfortable in caring for a wide variety of pets. I have been pet sitting for over 10 years and have handled a wide array of different dog breeds, from Maltese to Pit mixes and even a Neapolitan Mastiff! I am a super affectionate person, especially when it comes to pets! I have loved animals my whole life and nothing brings me more joy than getting to spend time with them. I'm a big people person too! I’m motivated by work — I have been self employed for the past three years and have been able to fully support myself with my two businesses, which I am incredibly proud of. I know how to get things done efficiently, well, and with a personal touch! I will never flake on a job or be anything less than completely honest with a client. Everything I do while on the job is for the benefit of my client and their pet. In my free time, I love to spend time outside when weather permits, and of course, pups can come along! I love taking walks in the park or around the neighborhood, or even just sitting in the back yard and reading a book. Most of my other hobbies, like knitting, reading, and cooking, are all things that I do at home, so pups can always be close by.
Reviews
I've always known Chelsea as a lover of all pets. She goes above and beyond to make any animal she is taking care of happy and comfortable and has the best time doing it. I am extremely protective of my kitten but I can relax when I'm away knowing she is in good hands when I leave her under Chelsea's care.
Chelsea is an extremely nurturing and caring animal lover. She goes above and beyond simple "pet sitting." Your pet will feel pampered and loved while in her care. Chelsea also groomed my Golden Retriever with professional quality. Highly recommended!!!!

Information Chelsea K. would like to know about your pet
Finding out your pup's routines, special needs, and commands is vital to a successful stay. I stay in touch with owners while they’re away, whether just to check in to say everything is going well, ask questions, or alert owners to any issues. I follow any and all instructions given to ensure your pup’s happiness and safety. I always like to start my meet and greets by letting the dog approach me. I make sure to speak in a positive tone to let the pup know I'm friendly, and if it’s okay with the owner, give them a little treat. I've never had a situation where a dog didn't want to be friends after some nice puppy talk and a scratch behind the ears! I always like to first know any special needs (for example, if the pup is still house training, doesn't get along well with other dogs, or is scared of men with hats). I am always happy to reinforce any training! If it works out for my client, I like to do meet and greets at the dog park. That way, I can meet the pup one on one, and also see how they react to other pets and people.
A typical day
First thing in the morning, we always go right outside to take care of business. Once that's done, it's time for breakfast! Some dogs need a little rest after eating, and some dogs are ready to play right after — depending your pup’s personality, we’ll follow breakfast with a morning walk or playtime, or take a little nap before taking our walk or playing together. The afternoon is usually filled with intermittent naps and playtime, some of it outside if the weather is nice. We have a fenced-in yard, which is perfect for fetch. In the early evening, I always like to do another walk, or if the pup's owner allows, even a trip to the park! Walks around the neighborhood are always great, but for a longer trip, I love to go to Curtis Arboretum! Lots of trails to walk, interesting things to smell, and a really big dog park with areas for small and large dogs!
