Experienced, adventurous dog lover!

Pet care experience

***UPDATE: no longer accepting new clients at this time.*** Taking care of your fur babies when you go away or need a little extra help is a job that I've committed to full-time for over 2 years. However, due to financial circumstances I made the difficult choice to go back to working a full-time traditional job. Due to local ordinances in our current location, we are no longer offering Dog Boarding or Doggy Daycare in our home. I sincerely apologize for any inconvenience! Serving your families and treating your fur babies as my own has been such a wonderful adventure. I will do my best to update you all if/when I go back down the pet sitting path. Drop-In Visits to your home, Dog Walking, & Grooming are still available. I have a Veterinary Assisting Certificate from the Spokane Area Professional-Technical Skills Center, as well as certificates for online classes like grooming & pet care. I have a huge soft spot for senior dogs! If your dog needs any oral medication or subcutaneous injections, I will gladly accommodate them. Even if they need to be carried from place to place, inside and outside (up to 60lbs). You can count on me to look out for the well being of your best friend. I grew up with dogs in my home and I was always the kid that went over to their friends house to play with their pets. For about 7 years, starting in high school, I worked for a family taking care of their dogs, alpacas, goats, sheep, cats, & chickens when they went out of town. My husband and I have 2 dog fur-babies of our own. Through the years I've owned and/or cared for dogs, cats, hamsters, turtles, frogs, tortoises, rabbits, parakeets, hedgehogs, rats, chickens, guinea pigs, and rabbits. I am a lover of all animals, especially dogs, and really enjoy seeing all of their unique personalities!

Chelsea was amazing when I had her come in once a day for almost two weeks to take care of my cat. I was super nervous leaving her for so long but didn't want to stress her out by boarding her somewhere. Chelsea put my mind at ease with texts and pictures everyday and I felt so much better knowing my cat was safe and comfortable at home being well cared for. chelsea was also happy to grab the mail a few times while I was away which I very much appreciated. I will absolutely have her watch my cat again in the future.

Chelsea was just phenomenal with our two dogs. It is not exaggeration to write that upon our return from vacation, both pets were in great moods, smiley, and happy! Every detail we requested was addressed and she proactively communicated how the pups were throughout our stay. After looking at a lot of other options before hiring her, we definitely will schedule her again!! Paul

Safety, trust & environment

I treat each pet as if it is my own while closely adhering to any specific instructions or wishes the client has presented. I also treat all clients home with the same respect, taking care to clean any pet messes and ensuring the home is locked/secured upon departure.

Information Chelsea H. would like to know about your pet

I just ask that you are completely honest about your animal so I can provide the best care possible. In my book, there is no such thing as "too much information." You know your critter better than anyone. Mentionable items would include: temperament (agression, fear, anxiety) Whether or not they get along with other animals Whether they're house trained/crate trained If they require any medications (what kind, how often, application) Any allergies Unaltered males Females in heat/pregnant/unaltered Any behavior reinforcement (ie: if you don't want them on your funiture, we won't confuse them by letting them on ours!). Favorite Toys Quirks (digging, particular things they like to chew on, prey drive) If they don't like to be picked up or anywhere they don't like to be touched What commands, noises, toys, or treats they are responsive to

A typical day

Every animal and circumstance is different, but my ultimate goal is to provide the pet(s) with loving care and my clients with peace of mind. Your pups will enjoy plenty of play time & affection! Short drives to plenty of trails, hiking spots, dog parks, and bodies of water. Tired pups are good pups! Grooming services are available as well (bathing/hair cuts/nail clipping) for a great price!
