Dog hikes and adventure walks

Pet care experience

I have been pet sitting and dog walking off and on for many years, grew up with dogs, and have been working with animals in various ways since childhood. My experience includes long term dog and rabbit boarding, weeklong house and dog sitting, and of course lots of dog walking and drop in pet sitting for all kinds of pets. I am confident walking dogs on and off leash (if they are trained and accustomed to it and only with your permission of course!), administering pills or liquid medicine, and caring for older dogs. I am also very knowledgeable about rabbits and available for drop in rabbit sitting in your home! My current pets are two very spoiled house rabbits and I am in the process of looking for a dog of my own, but getting my doggy love through Rover for now.

Chelsea has walked/ hiked with Meera twice now and it’s been fabulous! She’s kind, prompt, and my 7month old Aussie loves her!

Chelsea was able to help me out last minute with a few drop-ins for my dog! She was great at working with my dog who has a few neurosis. I am looking forward to working with Chelsea again!

Chelsea is an awesome, caring, responsible pet sitter! She's taken care of our bunnies numerous times, and we always felt like they were in safe hands; we totally trusted her with all of their unique needs. She's a good communicator, she's detail-oriented, and she treated our pets like they were her own! We would definitely recommend Chelsea as a great pet sitter!

Chelsea was excellent! She communicated very clearly in making arrangements, gave us every confidence that our dog's needs would be met, and did an excellent job while here with our dog, who is elderly and has several special needs. We definitely appreciated Chelsea's conscientious, professional and caring approach, and we will be delighted to work with her again soon!

Safety, trust & environment

I am not offering care in my home at the moment, but I would consider it for dogs I have already gotten to know through walking or drop in visits. I live in an apartment across the street from a large park and very nearby another natural area with a trail by the Winooski river. I have a pet rabbit at home so I have to be very careful in what dogs I allow in my place, but once I trust a dog I would consider daycare or boarding for smaller, low prey-drive, and/or older dogs.

Information Chelsea C. would like to know about your pet

I would like to know how your dog behaves with unknown adults, children, and other dogs while out for walks, whether they have leash aggression, or anything else I should be aware of on walks. I would also like to know how they do in the car and/or off leash and if you are comfortable with me taking them in the car to get to walk spots or walking them off leash in appropriate locations. I also want to know what they enjoy! I want to give each dog the best experience possible so I need to know whether they love long hikes, swimming, belly rubs, playing ball in your yard, or anything else they like. I don't have breed preferences, but I do prefer dogs under 75 lbs.

A typical day

I love getting out and hiking and will take your dog on fun adventures at local nature parks, state parks, or in the Green Mountains, whatever is the best fit for you and your dog. I'm also happy to take water loving dogs to the beach for a swim, or to take your dog to the dog park for some off leash time with friends.

Availability

I'm currently working part time, so I have most weekday afternoons and a few mornings free to spend with dogs. I am happy to just stop by for a visit or a walk in the neighborhood, but my specialty is bigger adventures that really get your dog out to enjoy all Vermont has to offer! I can take your pup hiking at local state parks or in the mountains, swimming in the lake, or to the dog park. I offer walks up to 3 hours long (for an additional charge) or if your pet is older and just wants to relax we can go for a short stroll and then hang out in your yard or house so they get some company.
