Pet care experience
I have ten years of experience caring for my own pets (dogs and cats together) and five years caring for others' dogs through Rover! When I lived in Washington DC, my boyfriend and I had a shared Rover account, and now I have opened my own account in Philly. I am a graduate student, so I have a relatively flexible schedule that does not conform to 9-5 work hours. I love dog-sittting, taking walks, and I am happy to do overnight stays; I've done all of these before. I have cared for old, young, healthy, sick, big, and small dogs, and I love them all the same! I can give shots if needed, maintain feeding regiments, give them walks, runs, or just cuddles - whatever they need, I'll make sure they feel loved while you're away.

Chayva is so good with my 9 month old crazy pup. She is prompt, responsible, and easy to reach. She sends us picture updates to let us know how our girl is doing. We have an ongoing arrangement and couldn't be happier!
Chayva did a great job watching our dog. She was flexible, and was able and willing to take on house sitting at the last minute. She was professional, and caring towards my dog. She communicated well and was easy to reach. We would definitely use her again!

Most importantly, I want to know a dog's health issues, vet information, any behavioral challenges and their triggers. I do not have any breed preferences, I've worked with dogs from pit bulls to greyhounds to labs to chihuahuas. They all have their quirks and they are all lovable!
A typical day
I love walking in the woods (I hiked 1600 miles of the Appalachian Trail), so that is always my first choice of a walking location if it's nearby (though I do have a car so we can drive to a hike if we have time). The dogs usually love all the smells and being in nature! I'm happy to take them to the dog park after the dog and I have gotten to know each other well, but I hesitate before that point.
