I am a certified trainer with FDLE and have 16 years experience as a K9 handler and trainer with Hillsborough county Sheriff's office. I have handled all sorts of dogs in my career but my forte is large breed dogs. I am certified in K9 first aid and have worked closely with several vets here in the area. My father was a veterinarian tech and I was exposed to all sorts of animal care. I am certified as an obedience trainer, and have trained several dogs in my career for several different departments. I believe in socialization of dogs and I feel it is highly important for owners to constantly monitor the animals for behavioral changes, physical changes, as well as environmental changes. As our animals can only "speak" to us through these. I am confident in handling dogs with separation anxiety and or weather related phobias. I am a holistic care as much as possible as well as preventative care. I believe a dog should be exposed to as much stimuli as possible, doing so at a pace that is tailored to the individual dog. Over-loading a dog can lead to behavioral issues and/or avoidance of certain individuals/or activities. I am confident in handling dog-aggressive dogs and I can help mitigate these behaviors through the dog and through the owner. These type of dogs need to be closely monitored and an action plan for correcting this behavior needs to be addressed. Ignoring or denying these behaviors hurt both the dog and the owner. I will tailor the walks to the individual dog and it's needs. I will also access for behavior and will give suggestions as needed. I can handle multiple dogs and I am very confident in handling those with behavioral issues. I am confident in handling and caring for cats/kittens as well. I am confident in bringing other animals into my home environment and the animals at my home are very obedient, are not dog aggressive and are very happy confident dogs. Introducing dogs to each other in the proper sequence is very important for a safe and easy co-exist relationship. I am looking forward to re-entering the K9 world in this capacity.
