Pet lovers with free time!

Pet care experience

My partner and I just moved to SLC from Boston! We are big animal lovers and have some free time in our schedules. So, we thought we could explore the city a bit more and take care of some puppers while we're at it! Win-win! We have an older pup named Millie. She loves long walks and naps on the couch. We, also, have a cat aptly named Mr. Kitty. Be sure to check out their profiles! We love going out on walks and jogs with more active dogs. Happy to take mini adventures to local parks or trails. Totally fine with a little bit of slobber in our car! With regard to taking watching over your pets, we follow directions to the T. If you say only X amount of food and X amount of treats, no amount of puppy dog eyes will sway us. Don't get us wrong, we am very affectionate and will spoil your pets if you want, but we also know how hard it can be to keep up a training regime with friends who sneak your pup potato chips under the table. We believe in communication and flexibility. Willing to send plenty of updates and pictures, and we can discuss any special needs to figure out if we would be a good fit. Looking forward to it! Also, our booking score is a little messed up. When we moved from Boston, we put our profile as "away" but it somehow undid that when we were driving across the country. So we missed a few bookings without a lot of ability to fix things on the road easily. Between the two of us, Bailey and Charlie, we are available most days and times. Charlie is finishing his thesis at UMass Boston remotely, and working part time. Bailey is studying at the U and between our two schedules we can fit in most pet walk or visit needs. We live in an apartment with our dog, Millie and cat Mr Kitty where your animals could join us for short stays upon request. There is a small dog park in our apartment complex, but most of the time we take dogs on walks around the neighborhood. One consideration is that there are two flights of steps into our apartment and it may be a challenge for older dogs.

Charlie was awesome. We felt a good connection with him from the start and Freud took to him right away. He was diligent in following our instructions for caring for Freud and our home. We received pics throughout the week which was much appreciated. We would have Charlie house/dog sit for us again without hesitation. Thanks Charlie!

Charlie for the win, again! This is our second time having Charlie as our drop-in doggy caretaker and we are very happy! Charlie is punctual and makes sure to let us know every detail of his visit with fun pictures of our dogs! (Unfortunately during this visit, one of our pups had an upset stomach and Charlie was quick to let us know so we could keep an eye on it!) We really appreciate Charlie’s flexibility and willingness to help us on short notice! We highly recommend Charlie!

Information Charlie & Bailey B. would like to know about your pet

Honestly, the most important thing is making sure everyone is safe and secure. While we don't expect any issues, let us know if there is anything you think might come up. More information never hurts. Some basic things we would like to know: How is the dog trained? What commands do you give, and what are the rules of the house? Is the dog allowed on the couch? We don't want to undo any training. Although we will happily continue to spoil your pooch if preferred ;) Is your dog an escape artist? Will they bolt for an open door? Do they wander out of curiosity? Do they come back when you call out their name? We are pretty open with regards to breeds and size. We are pretty active and in general high energy big breeds don't worry us. If we have any concern, we will probably ask to meet the dog before agreeing to anything. This goes for particularly young and hyper dogs.

A typical day

We walk a few miles everyday on our own, and would be willing to walk as far or as short as your dog would like. Charlie hurt his back running cross country in college, so he is a little limited in distance but will totally run or jog with athletic dogs or play around the yard. In general we are active and fun dog sitters and we think dogs have fun when we are having fun too!
