My name is Charlie, and I am an opera singer in the DC area. And do you know who loves a good opera? Dogs! When I’m not at practice or performances, I love taking care of dogs. I love music and I’m always singing or practicing for a part. Often, dogs in my care will do their best to sing right along with me. It’s hilarious and makes me feel like we’re part of a pack — or, perhaps, a bizarre traveling musical act. I grew up with a large dog and he was my best friend. I pet him, I bathed him, I taught him tricks, I taught him manners — and when his time on earth was over, it was clear that he had taught me even more than I had taught him. Some of my happiest memories include making that doggie happy in rain, sleet, snow and hail. I’ve helped raised puppies and cared for dogs of all shapes and sizes. I live a few blocks from Central Park and I love to go on long walks with dogs there. I also enjoy giving dogs who stay with me a good, long bath using gentle Castile soap. When your dog is with me, we’ll be together 90 percent of the time. When they need a little break, I have enough space for your dog to have room to be alone. I can also accommodate dogs with special needs, such as those who aren’t quite potty trained yet (or are having trouble these days). I know what it takes to keep a dog happy in a big city, and I will always do what it takes to make your dog comfortable, safe and, of course, happy!
