The Doggy Nanny

Pet care experience

Every dog I have met seems to take an immediate liking to me, and the feeling is mutual! I fell in love with dogs when I was very young. My first “doggy crush” was a Border Collie named Pepper that would accompany the groups at Buckley Homestead. Since then, I have owned three Westies, helped raise an Australian Cattle Dog / Border Collie puppy, provided petsitting for family friends, and cared for numerous animals as a professional pet care provider. I'm comfortable with all sizes and breeds of dogs. I'm very good with shy dogs - they warm up to me and come to trust me. I have a special place in my heart for them. I also have a special connection with cats and have been referred to as the Cat Whisperer and "human catnip." I respect their boundaries and let them determine the relationship, which is probably why they like me so much Haha! I'm comfortable with all kinds of animals: Dogs, cats, birds, rodents, fish, reptiles, and so forth. ***NOTE: I love all animals, but I have limited experience with exotic pets. Please tell me all about their needs, habits, routines, etc, so I can provide the best quality care for all your beloved pets!*** 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Due to an overwhelming increase in demand over the last few years, I'm establishing a new way of doing things to better manage my schedule and prevent burnout. For example, I will be severely limiting my overnight petsitting availability, I am lowering my travel radius, and I will occasionally limit my availability to only repeat clients. The pandemic has taken its toll on everyone. While I truly love what I do, and want to help as many people as possible, I also have to realize my limitations and take care of myself in order to better take care of the fur babies entrusted to me. Thank you for understanding! ❤️🐾 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 Schedule: *Please note the busiest timeframes are 7-9am, 10-2, and 5-8pm. I schedule on a first come, first serve basis (I also try to accommodate my regular long-standing clients, when possible:) *It is difficult for me to guarantee exact visit times, so I'll do my best to visit within a two-hour window (for example, 7-9am) *I start visits no earlier than 7am and try to be done for the day by 8pm. *I have limited availability on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Overnights: *For overnight petsitting stays, I charge a flat fee instead of charging extra for midday visits. So the rate I charge includes overnight (obviously:) as well as meals, meds, potty breaks, and a minimum of 3 visits during the day. (TBH I tend to basically move in and stay with your pets as much as possible Haha, but I also need to be realistic and visit my own gerbils at home:) Vacation care: *For vacation care (where I visit 2-3x/day), visits will occasionally be slightly shorter or slightly longer (e.g., 20 or 40 minutes) but it usually averages out. I focus primarily on providing what your pet(s) need. Limitations: *In the event of snowstorms, heat waves, wind chill, or otherwise questionable weather, I will cut short our time spent outside. *I have experienced "life happens" situations that have interrupted my work (e.g., ankle sprains, food poisoning, low back spasms, vehicle stuck in snow, etc). In the event I cannot visit your pet(s), I will always do my best to communicate. *Please have a back-up in mind in the event I am unable to visit your pets (e.g., trusted neighbor/friend/family in town that can access your home & care for your pets). *It is also recommended to have a back-up entry option (e.g., a hidden key in case the garage door fails to open). *Per chiropractor's instructions, I'm no longer walking dogs who pull a lot on walks. Rates: *Please note I have updated my rates. I want to provide competitive affordable prices while also factoring in my travel time, business expenses, self-employment taxes, Rover fees, etc. I'm hoping this change will allow me focus more on providing the best pet care I can rather than burning out & over-scheduling myself. 🐾🐾🐾 I have received the COVID-19 vaccine & the booster shots 🐾🐾🐾
