Before moving to Houston, I had an idyllic childhood growing up on a picturesque ranch where I spent hours and hours roaming the natural landscape and animals were truly my best friends. There was no need to have imaginary friends since I could just commune with the horses, lambs, chickens, rabbits, cats, and yes, dogs! Lots and lots of dogs! I have such fond memories of that time––everything seemed so simple, pure, magical. I have the utmost respect and affection for all living creatures, and even though I’ve spent my entire life caring for animals, I feel like they’ve done the same for me by showing me how to truly love and empathize with others. They also taught me loyalty, responsibility, and discipline. I am the proud dog mom to a one-year-old puppy named Hunter, who is a German Shorthaired Pointer. He is full of energy, and loves to play with other dogs. As a dog mom, I came across Rover during the holidays when I needed a sitter and realized I could provide the same level of care to others. I would love to return the favor and provide a place to stay for pets while their owners are away. I know what it takes to care for dogs of all sizes and all ages, and have extensive experience having raised animals on my family’s ranch, but also volunteering at multiple animal shelters. I helped train a lot of dogs for hunting when I was younger and am comfortable with any scenario, even administering medication. I was genetics major in college and now have a career in accounting, which was my minor. I work from home, so it affords me the time and energy to spend as much time as I can with my own puppy––and we’d love to have company! I can make my own hours, so I’m never glued to my desk. I am very outgoing and active, so I get outside as much as possible. My apartment complex has a dog park, so I am able to meet any needs when it comes to daily exercise. I also enjoy going on long walks and runs through the neighborhood multiple times a day with Hunter, so your beloved pup is more than welcome to join us! For downtime, I enjoy relaxing on the couch with a good book (I’m a bit of a bookworm) and snuggling up with my pup. Hunter and I look forward to spending lots of quality time with your dog!
