Pet care experience
NO kennels, NO crates !! Austin Dog Academy is a beautiful two acre piece of Tropical Paradise and a home away from home for your pup. I'm a professional dog trainer and have over 20 years of boots on the ground experience. We do things different than most other facilities you will visit or see online. Almost every dog boarding facility uses Kennels to manage their large population very similar to what you would see at a dog rescue facility or the dog pound. Row after row of Kennels and a staff to take small groups of dogs outside to play throughout the day. Austin Dog Academy is the complete opposite. NO Kennels and we do not use crates unless you request otherwise. We are a home away from home for your dog. Dogs get to be dogs at Austin Dog Academy. They enjoy supervised socialization with other dogs in a beautiful environment and when they're ready to be come inside to cool down, the cold concrete floors inside the house provide comfort in the hot summer heat. They can curl up in my lap, sprawl out on the couch, or lounge on the huge front porch. If they enjoy the water, they can take a Plunge in the swimming pool. I absolutely love dogs and your dog will be treated like family. They will receive the same loving care as my own pup Lucy. PLEASE TRY TO BOOK WELL IN ADVANCE TO GUARANTEE YOUR DOG'S RESERVATIONS!!! Reviews
My puppy Hank had a great time with Chad and his sweet Lucy.
Charlie’s always loves his time with Chad! Thanks for taking care of him!
Chad was very caring for Toby and Achilles! When I dropped them off, it was very apparent how good of hands they were being left in. Chad also kept me informed with how they were doing with pictures and messages. Recommend!
Chad has a great setup for the dogs. He provided a great service caring for our sweet Romeo.

Safety, trust & environment
Dogs safety is paramount. When dogs are in a social setting and new environment, they must be monitored. Not all dogs have learned how to behave in a social setting. Many have never been in a social setting before. Anything new that a dog has not experienced, can cause apprehension, and sometimes fear. My dog must learn how to behave and interact in this new environment. I'm a professional dog trainer and I know how to deal with these situations. It's important to understand a dog's background. Dogs over 16 weeks of age that have not been properly socialized often require a bit more work and sometimes need a little help understanding how to react In a new environment. That's why I'm with the dogs at all times. I have the knowledge and background to deal with these situations. I'm able to make a dog more comfortable in a new environment. With a bit of time I'm able to teach the dog how to better understand their new situation and how to react to it.

Information Chad G. would like to know about your pet
I will call and speak to you prior to your arrival. We will discuss your dogs routines, habits and any undesirable traits you feel I need to know about. Bring along anything you feel will make your dog more comfortable. Bring the dog food container marked with their name on it as well as a sticky note with the feeding routine you've established. Some pups are nervous for the first 24 in a new environment, this is normal and I expect it. I always spend lots of time and loving attention to new pups that arrived here. Within a day they're normally running and playing with the rest of their new pack.
A typical day
Once you arrive at Austin Dog Academy you will know exactly what a typical day looks like. The morning and afternoon hours hours are spent training and working on obidence. When dogs are not being trained they are allowed to socialize. Dog socialization is very important, and I monitor all the dogs closely. I can correct and redirect behaviors during play time as well. If dogs are not being trained they are exploring the property or lying under the shade of the oak trees. They're allowed to lie on the back patio furniture or take a nap wherever they'd like.

Pet Care IS my daily routine. Please understand, this is my full-time profession. A profession that I am deeply dedicated to, and one that I absolutely love. You are leaving your pup with a pet professional. I've spent years studying canine Behavior and the relationships between dogs and humans. I've developed a skill, or some say a gift, for communicating with dogs. More importantly I've learned the art of communicating my knowledge in an easy to understand, down to earth way. You can be the best dog trainer in the world, but if you're unable to effectively communicate your knowledge to the dog's owner, in an easy and understandable way, you have achieved nothing.
