Pet care experience
Animal lover, runner, musician, and teacher: I have many years' training experience with both humans and pets, and I love to meet all kinds. I will be your pets' best owner-away-from-owner and love doing it. Whether your pet would love a good run or a nice lap nap, I am glad to be make either happen! At home, I have two rescued furry creatures of my own. Stella came to me timid and untrusting and is now the biggest lap-potato and loving pup, so I am comfortable earning trust and creating a safe space for what pets need. Olive is a young Jack Russell mix with clinical and mediated anxiety. I am comfortable with managing behavior issues with structured training and schedule modifications. Previously, I owned a lovely kitty with special medical needs. Callie was a picky eater and diabetic in remission, so I have experience giving medication both orally and via subcutaneous injection and maintaining a rigid care and feeding schedule.

We are eternally grateful that we found Cayla!!! I really don’t think it gets any better. She’s responsible, thoughtful, caring, attentive, communicative, and took SUCH good care of our crazy puppy and home. We appreciated all the great photo updates and texts while we were away. We will be using her again for sure and can’t sing her praises high enough!!!!!
Cayla was fantastic! We got daily (sometimes twice a day) updates with pictures. I felt strongly that our pups were in caring hands which is especially important with our 16 year old dachshund. Our dogs went right back into our routine and the puppy (1 year old) didn’t lose any commands or expectations which is always a concern when we leave. Cayla will treat your house like home and make sure that all fur babies are safe and comfortable.

I am a university professor with summers, holidays, and weekends generally very flexible. During the academic sessions, I manage my own schedule and am frequently available for morning, midday, and evening visits.
