Hello! I’m Catie, your local Nantucket walker! As a former pack walker for Healthy Hounds Hiking in Glendale, CA, I have experience hiking upwards of 12 dogs in packs in both on- and off-leash settings. I enjoy getting up and active with a band of dogs eager to explore this little island we call home. Over the last two years of living on Nantucket with my own rescue dog Julien, I’ve become familiar with most of the nature walks here and know which ones are the most dog-friendly. I’ve also worked as a sales assistant at local pet store Geronimo’s, as well as the holistic pet supply store Pet Food Express (a California chain) — which means I know a lot about pet food, the best supplements, and animal behavior. Catie has been with our Copper (Redbone Coonhound) since we first got him as a puppy. It has now been over 6 months and we couldn't be happier with how she takes care of our dog. My husband and I work full time and are so grateful we have Catie to give Copper a midday boost by her coming by. She is more than willing to adjust to what he may need that day, be it a walk or a trip to the dog park to get interaction with other dogs. She is responsible and reliable and we are beyond happy with our experience with her. She cares for Copper as much as we do and we know how lucky we are to have her! She goes above and beyond by passes along new information she has read about dog behavior, tricks we might want to try, as well as any notes we would want to know as an owner while we are away from our dog. Couldn't recommend Catie more - she's amazing!
Catie has been great walking Dahlia. She has been available even for last minute walk requests. Catie sends Rover cards and photos each time.

I live in a house with a small yard, which allows for quick potty breaks but not much more than that. Thankfully, we are close to the bike path where I like to do morning walks. Pets are not allowed on the furniture in my home (rental property, sorry!), but I have plenty of pet beds around the house. Feeding schedules are kept consistent to make your pet feel as comfortable as possible. I often play calming music while milling about the house, which I find many animals enjoy. Some of my favorite games to play in the house are hide and seek, scavenger hunt, and tug-of-war. I love to teach pets new tricks, too!
Information Catie O. would like to know about your pet
I like to know beforehand what commands your pet knows and if they are house trained. I also need to know if your pet has any triggers (ex. men, other dogs, children, food aggression, being pet on the back, etc.). None of these are dealbreakers, but knowing this beforehand means that I will be able to correctly accommodate your pet’s needs in a safe way for everyone!
A typical day
Hikes around the island (Sanford Farm is a favorite), trips to the beach, and after-walk snacks at Geronimo’s are just a few examples of adventures I can take your dog on while in my care. (I’m also a great snuggler!)

Availability
I work full time from 10-6 pm, Monday through Friday, so I am most available for mornings, evenings, and weekend care. However, my job offers some flexibility in my schedule and can sometimes accommodate requests that fall outside of my available hours.
