Pet care experience
I got my first dog (a cavalier named Pepsi) when I was just 4 years old. Ever since, our family home has never been without a dog. We had Pepsi for 16 incredible years and she taught me so much. Elderly dogs are so special and it is a privilege to be able to care for them. I have experience looking after ageing dogs, as well as puppies. I now have a 10 year old cavalier and a 8 year old shih tzu. Brody (our cavalier), suffers from hip dysplasia, and through caring for him with his condition, I’ve become experienced in administering medication, adjusting his routine to suit his needs and adapting our house for his mobility requirements e.g with steps up to the sofa. My dogs absolutely love the company of new dogs to play with for the day! Brody tends to do his own thing, so Lexi (our shih tzu) really appreciates someone to play with!! I dog walk and sit full time now, but I am very flexible and can work around you. I have a car and can take your dog/s to your favourite walking spot. Our back garden is a fairly big size and completely dog proofed - allowing for your dog/s to play outside safely (with my two babies!). I can take your dog/s for walks with my two, or a solo walk - whichever suits. I’m happy to accommodate any and every need to make your dog/s feel safe, loved and at home. I’m happy to house-sit and care for your pet in your own house if this is your preference. I have experience looking after dogs that have been rescued and are sensitive or experienced early trauma. I also have experience walking and handling nervous dogs (with “nervous” high vis jackets and collars) and have learned how to keep them relaxed and at ease throughout their walkies. Please don’t hesitate to send me a message if you would like to know more about the services I offer and where I am based. It would be my pleasure to look after your fur baby 💜 Cathy
Reviews
Cathy met us in Belfast at our designated location right on time. She walked our dog, Nellie, for an hour. I phone Cathy when our bus was completed and she was back with Nellie within minutes. Cathy was very willing to be flexible with our time frame. It all came together beautifully. Nellie seemed quite happy with her walk. We will use Cathy in future.
Cathy is wonderful. My dog Norther had the best time with her! He wags his tail as walks out happily with her. She loves dogs and is so smart and knowledgeable about them. I feel so lucky to have Cathy!
Cathy was very good at communicating and took great care of Diego. She updated me each day before and after the walk and uploaded lovely photos on the rover card. Will definitely use again when we need a dog walker! :)
Cathy was brilliant- so accommodating and easy to work with. She took our lab for a great walk and he was exhausted afterwadds. Would definitely book again ?

Safety, trust & environment
I aim to provide a comforting “home from home” environment in my home, as I am aware that extended periods of time away from their owners can be stressful for dogs (and their pawrents!). I keep their daily routine as consistent as possible so that each dog in my care feels safe and loved. I treat each dog I work with as my own and their safety, health and comfort is my number one priority.

Information Cathy K. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know your dog’s dietary preferences, feeding times, if you have a favourite walking spot and how long the ideal walk would be. Please advise if there are any food allergies (this is more common than you would think!) and if any medication is required, along with any instructions.
A typical day
I love to walk dogs at Minnowburn, just outside of Belfast. It’s close enough to the city, yet allows for doggo time in nature! There are great fields nearby for games of fetch (if this is something your dog enjoys!). With your permission, I occasionally take dogs to dog fun parks such as Wild River in Ballynahinch or “unleashed” in Moira.

Availability
I am a professional dog walker and sitter and it is my full time job as of last summer. Switching to full time was the best decision I’ve ever made and I can dedicate more time to something I love. Working with dogs and getting out in nature every day really is the dream.
