It pains me greatly to write this review as we have never before had a bad experience with a sitter we booked through Rover - until now. Unfortunately, our experience with Cathy as a sitter was not a positive one. There were several issues with her stay in our home - among them was the fact that she took it upon herself to do some "organizing" around the house; without our permission or immediate knowledge. She re-arranged several of our cabinets, drawers, even our fridge - again without our permission. In the process of her re-arranging and "organizing," she broke a treasured figurine we had sitting on our kitchen counter. Thankfully, she ordered us a replacement, which is supposed to be delivered within the next week or so - however, it still cannot replace the original figurine, which was a gift from my sister. Also, as she was trying to adjust the height of chair we had at the desk in our kitchen area, she somehow, managed to damage the chair as well. She sent a picture of the damaged chair and left it laying on our family room floor. In addition to the "organizing" and re-arranging, she also went looking through our library, sending us a picture of one particular book she found on one of our shelves. We were surprised and unhappy that she felt so comfortable looking through our things without asking for our permission. This left us feeling as if our home had been violated. When we hire pet sitters to come and stay in our home, we trust that they will not go through our personal belongings, for any reason. Another major problem we had while she was in our home was her leaving to go to a concert one of the nights she was supposed to be watching our dog; only returning to the house after 3 am. She did not tell us she had plans to go to a show while she was scheduled to stay with Peanut, nor did she tell us what time she returned to the house. The only reason we knew her return time was because we received a notification from the security gate at our housing development, upon her re-entry at 3 am. We are also unclear as to when she left the house, so we do not know when/if she fed Peanut, gave him his medication, or even took him out. When we had our initial meet and greet with Cathy, we shared all the details of Peanut's health challenges and stressed the extreme importance of keeping to his medication and feeding schedule. We were of the understanding that we were hiring her to stay in our home with Peanut overnight (every night while we were away), and in our opinion, she violated that understanding. There were several nights she stated she did not get any sleep at all, which was alarming to us as we do not want someone sleep-deprived watching our aged chihuahua, who requires a strict feeding and medication schedule (all of which we stressed during our meet and greet with her). At one point, she asked us a question which was clearly answered in a binder full of information we had left for her. This led us to question whether or not she had read the detailed instructions and information we left to help her care for Peanut while we were away. Cathy was also not forthcoming with information regarding Peanut while we were away. She sent some pictures to us, but did not share specific information with us. For example, upon our return home, she told us he refused to sleep in the guest bedroom with her the first two nights she stayed at the house; that is very unusual for Peanut. One of those nights was the night she left for the show and didn't get back to the house until 3 am, later admitting that was also one of the nights she did not sleep at all. She also did not share with us that Peanut did not eat a couple of his meals while she was staying with him. This is incredibly important to know as he gets his medications with 2 of his meals daily - if he does not eat those meals, we need to make sure he gets those medications orally. Finally, Peanut went to the bathroom in the house several times while Cathy was scheduled to be staying with him. This is completely out of character for him, which has led us to wonder how closely Cathy was actually paying attention to him and/or his need to go out. Peanut is incredibly used to having pet sitters stay with him in our home and we have never had these problems with any other pet sitters. When we arrived home yesterday, Peanut was emaciated, exhausted, uninterested in eating (which is extremely unusual for him) and battling severe diarrhea. He is still not 100 percent and we are concerned about his well being. I am leaving such a detailed review because we really want other pet owners (and Rover) to know the experience we had with Cathy. This is the only time we have ever had a negative experience with a sitter we have booked through Rover. Unfortunately, it has been such a negative experience, we may not use Rover again.

We've been been friends 29+ yrs!!! Cathy has a heart of GOLD and has a very huge passion for animals ! She loves them just as if they were human,shes gentle,loving and very compassionate with all animals! I do not have any animals,however if I did Cathy would be the first one I call to have pet sit!!! Shes and amazing lady!!!
