**About us** Dog is my Co-Pilot *** In Dog I trust Hello dog lovers! I have loved canines since I was a child. It's fair to say they were my "babysitters." Now it's my turn to care for them. I was a professor at the University of California, Santa Cruz, for many years and I am the author of 10 books. As a writer, I work at home; and my 10-year-old Springer Spaniel, Corey, and I would love to share our cozy home with your best friend. **About our home/services** Our home is a one-bedroom condo. If your dog is only comfortable on "human" furniture, have no fear, everything -- including our bed -- is available to him or her. There is a safe fenced-in courtyard, so furry friends will always have access to fresh air & the pleasure of watching neighborhood activity. I have cared for dogs professionally for 15 years. One of my favorite clients was a candidate for California governor in 2015. He had two gorgeous, incredibly sweet, Newfoundlands: Newsom & Winslow. I was their exclusive caretaker for 2 1/2 years during which time I walked them 3X daily and spent several overnights each week with them at Neel's ocean-front home in Laguna Beach. A true dream job! **What to expect** There are endless opportunities for long walks in our neighborhood. In addition, we will play catch with both bouncy & tennis balls, and my Corey will show your dog how to play a dog version of soccer with a basketball -- really! An indoor game we like is Find It! I hide several treats and then tell them to "Find it!" Dogs love this game. And there's plenty of time for lengthy hugs and cuddling. In addition, I am skilled as a "Doggie Masseuse" & (if your pet is willing) I will happily massage your pet every day! **Special rules or requests** I prefer to limit overnight guests to small or medium-size breeds. And we cannot accept dogs in our home who are not house-trained. I’m home full-time to oversee all of your precious pup’s needs: Walking, Feeding, Affection, Potty Breaks, Treats & Playtime — YAY!!! Our goal is to make sure that your fur baby is safe, well cared for & stimulated. My wonderful little girl Corey is attentive, friendly & very generous with sharing her home, her toys & her mommy. Our guests (& their parents) often find comfort in her company.
