Vet assistant/ barn hand/dog walker

Pet care experience

fetchfindpro trained in small mammal care and training courses. 15yrs animal and human medical/personal care, unlicensed. 15yrs patient and animal rights advocacy. I0 yrs working directly with vets providing medical care as their caretaker on behalf of their owners. 10 yrs working at several professional and residential stables specializing in Boarding, Showing, riding lessons, horse training, and a nonprofit riding program working with at risk children. **Duties included but were not limited to; working with/caring for children, horses, dogs, cats, sheep, goats and chickens. Overseeing the Daily, weekly and monthly cleaning of the facilities, animals, and habitats. daily/long term medical and nutritional needs of the animals. Helping as a team to provide the safety of both humans and animals. Assisting vets and owners with everything from minor to life threatening medical emergencies. Wrangling children and helping keep them safe/on task in a potentially dangerous setting. Instructing/working with staff, horses, lesson children, camp groups, volunteer groups and individuals to complete daily, weekly, monthly and seasonal projects, lesson days and special events. 1 yr volunteer work at Orange Va County animal shelter. 2 yrs co-owning family LLC. 1 yr of co-operating a family commercial cleaning company. 7yrs commercial baking, producing a variety of handmade-small batch baked goods for any and everyone’s dietary, health preferences, and/or restrictions, including but not limited to; omnivorous dairy loaded products, as well as, many options for dairy free, no/low sugar, vegan, pescatarian, vegetarian, organic and healthy baked goods for horses, dogs, cats and humans. Numerous animals rescued from the streets, fostered, rehabilitated, and/or found forever homes/reunited with families. This was accomplished independently without aide of rescue groups beyond advice and contacting local rescues and shelters to report them as lost/found should their owners be looking for them. In short my passion is fighting for those who can’t fight for themselves and caring for as many animals and humans as Possible along my journey. Caring for both humans and animals has been a life long call to duty my entire life. It started with downed birds and stray cats and no matter what I do, I’m never far from where my heart lies, helping animals and people in someway. The bonus of working in pet care is having the privilege and pleasure of playing with and loving on as many animals as my hearts desires, while at the same time, being a responsible human and not seeking out animals to buy or own. Beyond adopting the occasional shelter animal, It isnt until one finds its lonely little way to me and my home that I take in animal companions. The good news is, they nearly always find me every year and I always do what is in their best interest, even if that means they would be better off with another family.

She took great care of our two seniors and rambunctious beagle and adjusted care as necessary based on their personalities. Great communication and the dogs were all in great shape and relaxed when we picked them up.

Amazing!!! Kate went above and beyond to make our dog feel loved. We trusted her immediately and I felt totally comfortable leaving our girl with her. You can tell that she truly loves her animals and yours too. We will definitely be using her in the future!

Cate is now a part of the family. Her care and attention are second to none and she will not only ensure that your pets are taken care of, but will go above and beyond so they are loved while we are away!

You will not find a more qualified and more loving person to watch your furry family. To say Kate went above and beyond in caring for our senior dogs (one in her end-of-life days) is still an understatement. We knew we would be facing a potentially detrimental anxiety state in one of our dogs. To better prep, Kate came to our house to meet our girls, spend time with them and learn their loves and dislikes, and then even scheduled an extra visit prior to our time out of town to instill comfort and security in our girl. She is extremely knowledgeable on both the medical and behavior side of pet care. Right off the bat, she picked up on actions and behaviors in our dogs that gave indications to different moods, pain, or discomfort. She even made homemade, all natural dog treats and other natural, dog safe tasty meals to entice our girl who had started refusing meals with other sitters, due to anxiety. While away, she sent so many photos and updates of how things were going. Never once were we concerned if our dogs would be too much for her to handle. This takes into consideration an extensive amount of special care needed for our girl in her end-of-days. She even has her home specially set up to give space for dogs that want peace and quiet or those that want to be super social. I love that she only allows for one client at a time for overnight care as it highlighted the attention and care she wants to give while you're away. Kate is not your normal dog lover who is just willing to watch your pets while you're away. Her knowledge, drive, and heart set her apart from anyone in this field. You will NOT find a better person all around. I cannot be more thankful for meeting her and her being a part of our dogs and our lives. If there were an option to go above 5 stars for absolutely exceptional, I would chose it and still rave that it should be higher.

walk routes are per owner instruction, unless given creative freedom. When walking, I prefer to take a new route every day to keep the animals and myself engaged in the walk, however, I always listen to owners instruction. if your animal has a predetermined route I will honor it. I will not use choke chains or prong training collars, these collars damage Muscle tissue, nerves, can crush the airway at the worst or create scar tissue in the airway, it also cuts off blood and oxygen to an animals brain. They are proven to be highly ineffective Training collars and only serve to damage an animals health and teaches them next to nothing. Harnesses preferred but a well fitting collar is acceptable, there are many styles and types, collars alone are generally not as safe and I’d like to make sure your dogs are as safe as possible and cannot slip out in my care. Using a collar and harness in combination and attaching the leash to both the collar and harness has been an industry standard of the safer pet services you’ll find available to date. Overnight stays: I will stay the whole night and do exactly as I’m instructed within the home, with the animal(s) and around the home, I encourage Human companions to work with me to build a specific expectation of care and activities that I can do with your furry companion, as they very much depend on your pets health, age and ability, one cannot generalize these things. I will also help reinforce training methods and standards set forth by the Owner. I can also suggest methods or give advice with any issue you might be working through with your animals. Weekday, day time: in home care due to owners extended absence, will be booked as day time pop in visits and an over night visit. Should your animal need 24/7 due to chronic issues, I call this in home boarding. it is important to note that if Booked for these types of services I will still have to leave your dog and take care of my week day, daytime clients and will add your dog as part of my walks and pop in visits for that day, I return multiple times a day and spend the night with your animals overnight but I cannot stay in a clients home 24/7, I will need to leave Here and there. If your animal requires 24/7 care my associate Dana is usually available to take these sits. I work with another sitter to provide gapless care for clients with animals whom cannot be alone for any period of time beyond a trip to the store. I make all owners aware of Dana and if she will be involved in their care. Dana and I often go to meet n greets as a team and meet the clients together. We feel that two is better than one and in the event of a crisis having a back up is never a bad thing. Dana is 18, responsible, mature, well trained, professional, and loving. Together the two of us cover a wider service area and back each other up to serve our clients more effectively. Dana is training to run her own rover account and become a vet tech. She’s very passionate about animals and very focused on not screwing anything up. She has a great attention to detail and a big heart for children and animals, at the same time she is so very shy and fears speaking to strangers. This is where Myself and all my clients come in by helping her grow her self confidence in her already well honed skills and abilities. We can and will be diligent with your animals health needs, up to and including providing food, water, exercise, light grooming due to rain, mud or salt, medication administration, illness, surgical recovery, chronic and or degenerative medical conditions requiring special attention or care, and even end of life care For senior animals who may not have long left but show plenty of will to live. Basically Dana and I are your animals best friend and personal advocate, I will help you, help them and in turn keep them happy and healthy so they can go on being your best buddy. It is also important to note: Any abuse or neglect witnessed by me from anyone, toward ANY animal within the neighborhood of a clients home, Whether In my care or not, will not be tolerated and will be reported to the proper authorities.
