HART'S PET SITTING

Pet care experience

I moved back to Florida in 2016 from my home state of California to be close to my grandson. I was pet sitting there full time for 9 years. I received most of my clientail ;) from the place I was working at, Rancho Coastal Humane Society's 'Day Care for Dogs'. The job included 4 of us driving 4 vans all around town to pick up about 10 dogs each and take them to the 'Day Care' where we would play and care for them all day, then clean them up if needed and take them back. When they sold the business (and changed the name to Kamp Kanine) some of the clients wanted their fur babies to go with someone they already knew and trusted (me). Before that I've always pet sat for friends and family and as a teenager would pet sit instead of babysit. I had a dog from age 5 to 16, my best friend, Poochie. Because of that it's always been 2nd nature to be around dogs. I also had a cat, Beemer, and a horse, Chompa, (I didn’t name any of them). Later, as an adult, I had a few cockatiels, and a few more cats Mufasa and Bigira (I named them) We always went to my father's best friend's ranch on holidays where there was all kinds of animals to care for (horses, cattle, chickens, cats, & dogs) This is what I do for a living, because I love animals. If you want pet sitting at your house I would also bring in your mail, water your plants, take out the trash and more if needed. I own a 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee and have a ramp for those that can't jump and I can't pick up, in case we need to go anywhere (the vet). Although Rover displays prices, final prices can be negotiated and modified by you and I, depending on the job, your needs, distance, etc. (Rover keeps 20% on my side btw).

Catherine is very observant and caring person. She was so nice to let our fur baby stay with her for the day while we visited family at a condo that did not allow pets. Her backyard is perfect for dogs to run and play. We highly recommend Catherine to care for your pets.

Catherine is a real dog pro! Our new rescue is high energy and exuberant, to say the least, and an escape artist. Though he wears a gps collar, Catherine has her yard fenced into sections so that there are multiple barriers to freedom. This and her obvious experience with all types of dogs made Catherine the right choice. We have already booked another visit. Thanks. Catherine!

Catherine was so awesome to accommodate us last minute and was great at taking care of our fur babies for their first time using Rover! She was so nice and easy to work with. She had fast communication, shared pictures and was thorough with the dogs’ care and needs. Her house/yard is made for dogs (lots of fenced area to play). We highly recommend her and would definitely use her again!

Information Catherine H. would like to know about your pet

If possible I like to do a meet and greet, you and your pet at the home the pet will be staying at, yours or mine, before I book a new client, no cost or obligation. This gives us all a chance to get to know each other so I'm not a stranger when the time comes and makes it more comfortable for all of us, especially the pet. I like to know everything and anything you can tell me about your pet so I can take the best care possible and not interrupt their normal routine. What training they have? Any issues physically or otherwise? Medications? Do they use a doggy door or communicate in some other way to get out in the yard to do their business? What breed or mix? Is it a rescue and if so do you know the back story? Are they friendly to strangers? How do they react with other animals they see on walks? How many walks? Are they pullers? If so do you have something to keep them from doing so? If we need to go somewhere for some reason with them do you put them in a crate or halter/seat belt? Are they escape artists? Do they get separation anxiety? Scared of thunder? If so do you use any remedies to help them relax? Who's their vet? I ask that when they are in my care they are up to date on all shots and meds and that they and their personal belongings such as beds, crate, leash, toys etc. are fairly clean and that the pet is not sick. Please have plenty of food for them and any treats they're allowed to have. If I'm staying at your house please leave it fairly clean and I will do the same. Thanks!

A typical day

I will stick to your usual schedule and way of doing things with your pet. Times of feedings and walks, and the way you've trained them. During the long hot summers here I usually walk dogs at the coolest times of the day. I take them out in the yard to play and romp in the grass during the day, where there's shade and plenty of water. Some like to play in the kiddie pool or just lay in it, or chase the hose water, or sprinklers.

I am a full time pet sitter. This is all I have done for a living since 2008. Your pet will have my undivided attention, unless I have another pet already scheduled for visits. If I do I will let you know at our first contact up front and you can think about it if you're not sure about me leaving. Maybe do a meet and greet to see where they would stay if I need to leave them. And I wouldn't take any more drop in requests if I have your pet at my home.
