Pet care experience
My education with dogs started with training our own Boxer at the age of 12 after finding a book on dog training in the local library. Then I moved on to working in boarding kennels and the Humane Society. Finally I attended one of the few schools for professional dog trainers in this country and worked as a professional trainer for a time. Along the way I’ve handled hundreds of dogs. Shy dogs, aggressive dogs, boisterous dogs. Everything from easy going family pets to high drive police dogs. I’m just as comfortable giving a dog a high energy game to play as I am sitting on the floor with a dog that just wants to be loved on for a bit. I often did visits and pet sat for dogs that had special handling requirements. And there’s been some cats along the way too! From the unforgettable Mr. Beans who was always quite angry at being boarded to the many lovely cats I handled at the Humane Society.

Safety, trust & environment
Safety is a big thing with me. I always use a slip lead for safety on dogs that do not have a collar that would prevent them from pulling their heads out.
Information Catherine G. would like to know about your pet
Please let me know if your dog has a history of medical issues such as seizures, arthritis, known joint problems, spinal injuries, etc. I would also like to know about any past incidents that resulted in a bite even if the circumstances made it understandable and no damage occurred.
A typical day
With permission, I can work on some fun tricks or just polish up their leash walking skills a bit. Even a timid dog can enjoy something like scent or target work.

Availability
I do seasonal work in Alaska aboard a boat so when I’m home in Arizona my schedule is completely open. Walking times are mostly limited by our desert climate.
